My eight year loves shooting and I’d like to get her a .22 rifle. I’m not an AR guy (or even that into riffles), but between the collapsible stock and the easily swapped uppers an AR pattern seems like something that can grow with her.
I know a .22 AR look-a-like would probably be cheaper, but in the long run I’m sure 1 rifle with 2 uppers would be cheaper than 2 rifles. I also think it would be nice if her first rifle wasn’t something that just sits in the back of a safe until her own kids were old enough for a .22.
I know I could build one, and it might even be a good project to do together. But I have no experience building ARs and think it would be pretty fun to put in her Easter Basket.
