To an extent. I mind recoil that makes shooting difficult. Case in point: I prefer to carry a 9mm over a .40 because of the less snappy-recoil which lets me put rounds on target ~33% faster. To me speedy accuracy is king, and anything that hampers that is less than ideal. No problems with .45's though...
As for rifles, properly shouldered its fairly easy to soak up recoil, thus I don't really give it much thought. As long as I can quickly shoot it into the 10 ring, I don't care. I think this may have something to do with learning to shoot rifles on a 30.06 as my first rifle, ever.
