Does Walmart still sell Firearms?

All the Walmarts in my area sell guns and ammo...only 1 has reloading supplies though.

Wal-Mart sells reloading supplies? :what: Oh, how badly do I want to get out of CA. Our local Wal-Mart, by which I mean the only one within a twenty mile radius has ammunition - sometimes.

Our local Walmart near reading PA sells ammo only. They have some BP rifles and archery stuff, but no more "real" rifles/shotguns...the department mananger said they did not want to deal with the paperwork.
A shame, really - they had some good prices on Savage, Remington and Weatherby rifles.

I don't believe this is common for most areas. I don't recall ever seeing one anywhere, and I travel a good bit. I know there aren't any that have handloading supplies around these parts.

:)

The only reloading supplies thay I have ever seen at WalMart are powder and primers for muzzleloading which they have plenty of in Arkansas during deer season. The prices on that stuff is usually a joke until they clearance it out after the season.

The Kannapolis/Concord Wal-Mart still does, but the other two Concord Wal-Marts don't. I think the closer you get to major cities or populations they stop selling guns. But thats just my impression around here.

Around here they carry RCBS stuff; presses, measures, scales, powder, brass, manuals, dies, etc etc. Pretty much everything you need to reload. But they have not had rifle/pistol primers for a while...the have shotgun primers though.

Not sure about Manhattan, KS, but the one in Junction City does not. I was told that the Junction City one wasn't selling enough guns to make it worth renewing their FFL. The one in Salina, KS does.

I also get around the country a bit (truck driver)...there are quite a few WalMarts that have reloading supplies.

The one near my house that does is in Bristol, VA. (I-81, exit 7)

i live in a pretty rural area, and none of the Wally's around here carry long guns anymore, and the ammo selection has decreased by a great deal in the last few years

Two Walmarts in my county, and both still sell firearms...Bristol VA has reloading supplies also!!! Lee County Virginia, Whitesburg, KY, and Middlesboro, Ky all still sell firearms.

I went on an ammo splurge over the last couple of weeks here in the Grand Prairie/Mansfield area of DFW. I started at the Wal-Mart closest to my house. They have a fairly limited selection of ammo, no guns, and a limit of 6 boxes of ammo per customer per day. I hit a second one a little farther away and they have a substantially better selection of ammo as well as long guns for sale, plus no limit on the number of boxes per customer. That Wal-Mart will be getting my repeat business.

Rifles and shotguns in Torrington Ct. Just remodeled the store and they put in a large new case for ammo:)

Locally, my Wally World is out of the firearms business. Plus the fact, if you
purchase handgun ammunition a manager has too escort you to the nearest
register, and out the door~!

That, plus their concealed carry policy is why I NEVER patronize their business~! ;) :D

Here is my guess.

They factor in the following:
1. Sales = Does it make business sence?
2. State and Local Laws (Sorry California, Ill. & NY)
3. Rural vs Urban, more likely the City has complicated things with additional laws, and the demand is lower.

I would flip if I saw powder, primers, etc. in the Wally Worlds in the DFW area.

Well I'm not sure where in the NC/SC area you are but the little old super walmart down in gaffney sc has rifles and shotguns along with black powder rifles. We also have pistol rifle and shotgun ammo, when it hasn't been bought up. No reloading supplies tho :( prehaps I should talk to our local sporting goods manager.

Also the store on the west side of spartanburg has long guns and ammo where the one on the east side only has ammo, the one in boiling springs SC only has ammo.

One thing I have happened to notice is sometimes the stores with ammo only have a better selection of ammo and even some premium ammo vs the basic stuff.

The Walmart in Mooresville (NC150 and I-77) sells long guns, as does the one in Statesville (US21 and I-40).

Perhaps I just happened to miss it, but I never noticed a sign prohibiting CC at my local WWs.

:)

Walmarts at Tomball and Porter (Houston suburbs) are the ones with guns and ammo. The rest are ammo only.
