I would say the 10 gauge Greener! May only be 2 shots but once the smoke clears you could drive a bus through the opening you just made! Just make a slight adjustment to the gun and add springs to the ejectors and reloading would be faster! I preffer OLD SCHOOL

Nah, from what I know, in Canada, if you can get the permit to purchase/ possess a shotgun, there are no restrictions on barrel length.
The way it goes, eh? Easier to get a gun here, but more restricted on what "exactly" we can have.

OMG the sky is falling! Guess what bud, plenty of resources to go around. The term "DOOM'S DAY" conjures up a little more than groups of wild eyed gangs roaming through the streets.
Living through the Cuban Missile Crisis and though days of the serious cold war days, my idea of "DOOM'S DAY" living right outside of New York City was watching the bomb float down on a parachute and then a big flash.
My course I could have watched it holding up a shotgun shouting obscenities.

End of days?
Whatever is available immediately with ammo, anything else is getting dropped or left.
Seriously folks if the point of an End of Days thread is to ask about reliability/longevity then just ask about it, don't try to beat around the issue by making a wild hypothetical.
If the EOTWAWKI (end of the world as we know it) does come then probably most of us aren't going anywhere quick because gasoline is about to become scarce quickly and so within weeks or months our combustion based vehicles will be useless. The focus overall will turn to localized subsistence farming, making food to get by.
There will be those however that wish to "Rebuild Society" and to do so by "Law and Order." This may mean that you could end up in skirmishes with your fellow human beings from near or far. However it is impossible to predict if these battles will be fought with surplus tanks or sharpened sticks.
Lets just end the SHTF please.

I've owned, shot and carried 870's on the job and never did one malfunction. However, for "Doomsday" I'd want a AR tyype rifle for lighter ammo and longer range targets.
