Well, I've got one set up as my anti zombie ordinance right now. There is nothing fancy about them, just a bare bones A1 upper with a light contour barrel. Mine has been flawless as far as feeding goes and while not a 600m high power gun it is more than capable of giving an excederin headache as far as I can see the target. I've done some tweaking with mine. I changed out the silly fixed telestock for an ACE stock and put an ERGO grip on it. I also mounted the First Samco handguard and mounted one of my m3 lights on it. This gun balances so well for me that it seems tp almost aim itself. I couldn't be happier with it. I may add a real telestock if the ban dies, but I really like the ACE thats on it.

I'm kinda new to the AR15. I have a Bushmaster A2 20 inch that I got a few months ago and wanted a lighter 16 incher. Does the A1 have last round hold open? Thanks for the replies .

I've never seen one that doesn't. I really like my little shorty. Its not all whiz bang tactical with every high tech gadget hanging off it. Its a (very) light and well balanced carbine. I look at the Panther Lite as either a no frills working gun or a excellent "budget" AR for those who don't need all the high tech features or feel the desire to create a visual clone of the M4. I did forget to mention one small drawback. That brake is more than a little annoying to shooters in the next couple of lanes over. It doesn't bounce much of the extra sound back at you, but man, that thing is LOUD to the sides. Also, I had to do a small amount of filing on the mag catch cutouts on a couple of British steel mags to get them to fit. All surplus mags have worked as well as orlite and thermold. I've heard Bushmaster has the same issue with the Brit mags.

All AR15s are designed to hold the bolt open on the last shot, though some magazines do not have the proper follower to engage this feature (Beta Mags, Chinese drums)
