Can't go wrong either way, but good choice!

I voted FAL. They're just too classic, tried, and true to not own one. I'm saving my pennies for a FAL and an M1A. I think between those two, you can get just about anything done. If I could only have one, it MIGHT be the AP4, but it is less effective for accurate work than the M1A, and less hardy for dirty work than the FAL.

Post some pictures once you bring 'er home! :)

FALs falling into my hands would be akin to manna from heaven.

Me speakey FAL, it's a universal English/Belgian realization. A twenty-round 7.62 magazine provides great support. I own a Bulgarian AK, but still place my trust in full-power .30 cartridges, like the .308 Winchester.

Wish to trade your DS Arms FAL for a forged AK? Let's talk.

Voted for the SA58, cuz I have one. :)

I know I'm mirroring other sentiments on this thread, but I all of a sudden had to make a quick decision on just one (of many) firearms I own, that I could keep, it would hands-down be the DSA. In crude terms, it's just plain a butt-kicker. Mine shoots like a dream, and cleans up right nice in no time at all. As for glass, I went with a Meopta Meostar R1 1-4x22 on Burris XTR Xtreme Tactical Rings. The scope was pricey, but then again, so's the rifle. ;) It's a match made in heaven.

Definitely the FAL. I never gave it much serious thought until I got to handle one at a gun store... now one year later its been my favorite rifle and sees more range time than all the other rifles combined :D

DSA FAL (SA-58)

Here's mine. Pacific Armaments Corp. Imbel Gear receiver, Austrian STG-58 kit, FSE fire control group, tapco oprod and gas piston, DSA pistol grip, and Israeli furniture (heavy barrel butt, light barrel handguards).

I have A 16" FAL with An Eotech. Darn fine Florida pig shooter.
I built my own FALs. Never tried one of the factory built guns.
I guess they would work on Texas hogs.

LISTEN CLICK, CLICK BOOM. THESE GUYS ON HERE ARE VETS OF THE DSA AND I'M SURE THEY SHOOT MANY OTHERS INCLUDING THE THE 308 DPMS.

THE AGE OLD ADAGE YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR IS STILL TRUE. THESE THREADERS ENJOY QUARELING WITH EACH OTHER AND DEBATE. YOU SHOULD TAKE WHAT THEY SAY SERIOUSLY.

BEING AN AR 15 ARMORER I HAVE BUILT ABOUT 20. THEY KNOW WHAT'S WHAT FROM TRIAL AND ERROR. LOOK YOU GOTTA THINK IN PRACTICAL WARFARE TERMS. BEAR WITH ME THE AR 15 IS A GREAT ASSAULT RIFLE IF YOU READ YOUR HISTORY, THE M1A WAS USED FOR WARFARE IN WW2.

NOW KEEP IN MIND AN ASSUALT RIFLES IS USED FOR "ASSAULTS" MEANING A BARRAGE OF GUNFIRE. NOW GRANTED YOUR ARE NOT GOING TO GO WRONG WITH THE 308 FAL, BEING AN ARMORER OF THE AR 15 .223 AND I WOULD IMAGINE REQUIRE MORE CLEANING.

NOW WHEN THE END OF THE WORLD COMES, THE LAST THING YOU HAVE TIME FOR IS CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE. THINK ABOUT YOUR PURCHASE IN PRACTICAL TERMS, TIME AND RAPID ROUNDS DOWN RANGE (A LIFE SAVER). THOUGH A .45 ACP DOESN'T HURT MATTERS EITHER.

THE .223 ROUNDS DEFLECT QUITE EASILY, OTHERS WILL KNOW WHO HAVE SEEN IT. I HAVE BEEN AROUND FOR A LITTLE WHILE AND KNOW THE ROPES. IN THE END YOUR PAYING A LITTLE MORE BUT I THINK IF I AM NOT MISTAKEN THE FAL IS GOING TO SAVE YOUR ASS AND YOUR FAMILY.

IMHO DO WHAT YOU WANT JUST KEEP IN MIND FREEDOM ISN'T FREE AND THE COST IS GREAT. SO SPEND THE EXTRA DOUGH AND GET WHATS BEST.
