Durability of Philippine-made 1911's

I have three RIA's and love 'em all! I really think they could double or triple their production and product line, and sell every one of them. Offer blued finishes, stainless, hard chromed, and nickel. Offer 9mm's, .40's, more .38 Supers. Offer more variations of the Tactical model, in different sizes, calibers and finishes. They'd sell like hotcakes!

I seriously doubt anybody's ever going to "wear one out". 99.9% of their detractors are just "expensive gun snobs" who can't stand the thought of affordable 1911's that shoot as good as the ones they've paid four figures for. The differences are there, but they're minor.

I just picked up a nickel plated full length 1911 RIA for less then half of what a Kimber or Colt would run. Im going this weekend to put a couple hundred rounds through it.

Wow, that's good to know.

Maybe RIA should raise their price up to Colt, Kimber and Springfield...and see how many they sell then!
