Aww crap.

I did it today, but it was towards the end of the day. Totally forgot the surrender position and turn, 7 hours shooting in the sun will do that to ya I guess.

So I ran a 4.44, but don't put me in the comp as I failed to complete the scenario as instructed.

Here's the video.

Great shooting everyone.

Keep posting videos of your el prez times, I'm sure everyone would like to see them.

As with most of these comps following the rules is the hard part. Shooters must not be good readers. lol. :banghead: :)

Thanks everyone for participating. It was lots of fun. I'm going to be trying to film myself again and improve on my time.

I guess I should have posted this sooner. Cold and windy, but I shot an official Open Division El Pres according to the rules. Here is the link:

Official El Pres. in Open I had a sub two second first half on one, then flubbed the reload bad.

As with most of these comps following the rules is the hard part.
I guess I need a DQ. I thought the spacing was 36 inches edge to edge. Oooops...

Considering the obesity problem in America, barrels somehow seem to be appropriate targets. That's some funny stuff right there.

:D It's not really obvious in the video, but I have paper on the barrels that have actual size IPSC targets printed on them. In hind sight it really does look like I'm just shooting barrels.

I went full screen and I can see the paper. BTW, a sub one second turning draw is pretty rare. I ran the el pres at least a dozen times this morning and my best draw was 1.08. Any idea what your reload was running in the video? My best effort with decent hits was: Timer review.

My splits and transitions are OK, but that sub-one second reload with a dot gun is pretty elusive. Believe it or not, I can get the shot off faster after the reload with my old Limited gun. :banghead:

Wow Ankeny, it looks like we are neck and neck. I found the picture I took of my reload time and it was 1.30 seconds. My draws were all in the .95 to 1.07 range, but my reloads are between 1.30 and 1.41. Guess I know what I need to practice.

I stopped shooting competitively a few years ago when I decided to go back to school. Now that I have graduated and have a decent job I'm thinking about getting back into it. I'm glad to see that I haven't gotten too rusty. :)
