This is the gun club where our own Standing Wolf is employed.

When I looked at that site, I was completely blown away. I've never seen such a nice facility.

Is there anything anywhere else that compares to this?

is there only one range? while it's certainly nice, it seems a hefty price to pay to shoot a handgun.

also, i'm sure the high initiation fees are what keeps it so nice. not because of the price but because of the clientèle that it keeps out.

Very nice, but it'd too rich for my cheapskate blood. At my club, I bought a share of stock ($1000) and now I'm dues free. Plus I can sell the share back if I ever get tired of the place, move or whatever.

Of course, my club looks nothing like that....:)

Around here the small private indoor ranges don't allow handloaded ammo or lead bullets. In fact I believe you must buy your ammo from them. I belong to an inexpensive outdoor range, but might shoot at an indoor range if I could shoot my reloads. Also, it looks very nice. More wives might go along to a place like that.. SG

The range looks a lot like The Bullet Trap's (Plano, TX) did when it was new. The question is how well they maintain it over time.

Our club, Bismarck/Mandan Rifle and Pistol Assoc., (want to win a rifle?:) See my other post) is building an indoor range. Should be shooting in it this winter. It will be a 16 lane 50 meter range for all handgun and smallbore rifle. With the Assoc. fee, outdoor range fee, and indoor range fee, club dues might have to get up close to the $275 mark. Our indoor range isn't going to have a store or gunsmith either. I thing the 275 might not be to bad..........

I think the best range is out your own back door and it is the least crowded
I live one block too far into my sub division to enjoy this. The houses across the street from my back yard neighbors have about 200 meters of open land behind them before you get to some hills that make a great backstop. Too bad we all live in the city limits. But all those folks have to do is step out of their yards and they're in the county. Strangely, I never hear any shooting coming from back there.

To be fair, we don't need private gun clubs around here. A three mile drive has me at the local public range, and a ten mine drive has me in the boonies. Plenty of room to shoot here.

I want to see a 1k yard indoor range

Not me. Not having to wind dope would take all the fun out of it. Using the flags is wimp city enough.

Up on the Grasslands, I used to dump one into the dirt about half way just to gauge the wind from the dust puff. (Perfectly safe, up there, then.)

Besides, you'd need a ceiling what, about fifteen feet above the muzzle in standing position?

(Max ordinate is 11.6 feet for a 172 gr .30-06 bullet sighted for 1000 yards.)

That is a nice looking range though. I wouldn't doubt it if some gun/cop movie used it in a film. Remember that Beverly Hills Cop movie where one of the bad guys ran the Beverly Hills Gun Club or whatever? I'm sure there's other movies that have shown nice ranges before too, but that one came to mind, they could have a nice movie scene in there...preferably one where the owner isn't a criminal in the movie :D

What a fantastic place!!! For that price around here, you don't even get 1/4 that kind of a place. And most of them always have lanes that are broken. Wow .. I gotta move.

WOW -- looks like a nice place to shoot or just hang out w/ the fellas. All that's missing are buffalo wings & girls in dolphin shorts :D :neener:
