Hey y'all,
Saw a guy down here in Texas advertising a HiPoint .40carbine for 2.5 bills and deided I'd take a stab at enticing with a trade. As an aside, I've gotten to where I can't really justify spending income on arms or ammo (be they new, used, or surplus). I have become adept at trading during this time however. I got the Saiga308v21 I wanted by roundabout trade as I call it: selling other things (a rifle, a carbine, and a pistol in this case) to buy what you want. Also helps instill an appreciation for the value of your weapons and the money you have to spend to get them in my opinion.

So in this case I'm eagerly awaiting the delivery of a .40carbine with a red-dot (my first, in terms of pistol caliber carbines AND red-dots). In exchage I sent 500rnds new .45acp and a few beans. It's great how you can strike a deal when folks know what they want will be dropped off at their doorstep like magic. "The bullet fairies came, Dad!"

So now I'll have something to pop off all that .40 ammo I bought for the CZ I couldn't keep. I may get another some day, but for now it was just superfluous with .45 and 7.62Tok already reprezent-n.

However, I knew once the floodgates were open on carbines there may come a flood. A buddy of mine showed me some .44magHP the other day and it'd been awhile since I examined that round and certainly not since I've started collecting various calibers. Wow! Now THAT looks like something you could shoot out of a rifle and maybe out of a pistol (if you're particularly adventurous). So now I'm wondering how long it'll take me to collect enough .45 to start looking for a .44 repeater, finagle a trade an carry it out. Sounds like a great long-term project!

If original stock check pics out of new stocks by Hi-Point

Does your 40 cal Hi-Point carbine have the new stock or the original(Not The ATI stock)? No real big issue other than the newer stock looks much, much better than the original. You'll have the option so to buy one of the new stocks from Beemiller or send your rifle in to have retro fitted. Ask them for the original stock back.
Try to locate the pics of a member's 9mm carbine that he used part of the what I believe is the gas port vent cover, which is not on the new stock, it really makes a big difference in the tactical look of the new stock, even though it probably has no real affect in the rifles performance. Good Luck!

Sorry if this gets double posted.

This one is NIB and bought within the last few months, so I'm assuming it has the new stock.
