Expanding on shooting gun in your home.

It was to help steer all the dummies away from wanting to discuss long term hearing issues with shooting indoors. Everytime I comment or try and explain I either get the following

1. In a home defense shooting the only thing that ultimately matters is your families safety
Or
2. You need to be concerned about permanent hearing loss when shooting indoors

Neither of which were what the thread was created for.

I used Bullseye as an example as I have much more experience shooting that than any actual "defensive shooting" or IPSC where my limited experience in that venue resulted in scores, discounting power factor, that were virtually identical in either 9mm or .45ACP.
Really?

I took a steel framed .45 to a defensive pistol shooting course about five years ago. As the long day wore on, it became crystal clear that I was at an extreme disadvantage in comparison to those who were using service-sized 9MM pistols, even the polymer ones.

Slow fire accuracy is completely irrelevant here.

Here is the comment from Rob Pincus to which I alluded earlier:

Physics dictates that the 9mm is going to be a more manageable round (lower recoil) than the .40 S&W out of any particular firearm. So, no matter how much you train and how much you practice, everyone should be able to shoot a string of Combat Accurate 9mm rounds faster than they can fire a string of .40.

My apologies gbexpat perhaps I should have used the word trolls. You know those that don't neither to read at least the original thread topic or those that just happen to drop in an insult or make irrelevant comments off topic. Trolls or perhaps furtadas.

I had to google "furtada" ... and came up with this:

Furtada
Both a noun an adjective, this is a unique time used in the series "The League" on FX, in lieu of the now politically unacceptable terms "retarded" or "retard."

You think that referring folks here "trolls" and/or "retards" is OK? ... and an improvement over calling them "dummies"?

If so, you really need to take a moment and consider an Attitude Adjustment before continuing your posting activities at THR.

Seriously. Abrasive/Prickly Personas which may be accepted or even de rigueur in some other Forums are not long tolerated here.

Just some friendly advice. ;)

It's your penchant toward flip, derogatory, condescending, comments that gets in the way of "discussion and dialogue." This is definitely not in the spirit of THR.

My apologies to everyone. It's been a frustrating thread and I didn't mean to offend anyone. Just was burnt out on drive by posters that didnt even read the thread. I'll take a week off.
