Well, after my first idpa match, I decided there were a couple of changes I wanted to make to the Custom II. I picked up a Smith and Alexander mainspring housing/ magwell to help me with mag changes. I took it to the range and practiced slide lock reloads on a timer and was impressed with the difference. It's a great one piece unit!

Since I added the magwell, I needed new grips so I got some g10 starburst grips. They fit perfectly, have great grip, and the recess for my thumb helps me get at the mag release quicker. Plus they look great!

The last change I made was adding a Dawson Precision fiber optic front sight. I went a little narrower than stock for faster target acquisition. It took some hand fitting to get a nice press fit, but it was definitely worth it! The sight came with the pusher I needed and also enough green and red fiber optic for 4 sights.

Here's some pics

I'll take a pic after work tonight. The front sight was in super tight, had to bring out the big hammer haha. Other than that it was just a matter of removing material little by little with a triangle file until it fit. Dawson has a great video on YouTube on the process and it helped me get it perfect!

Thanks for the kind words! Next up is fitting a high rise beavertail grip safety, then off to be hard chromed. I'll probably do a bead blasted/ matte finish and brushed flats.
