Hello friends and neighbors

I picked up a Randall #2 with a type A sheath I'm not certain belongs with this particular blade.

Instead of smooth leather the front is dark brown "marbled" and the back is rough ,the Randall logo has 2 and 7 stamped below. I looked at all the images at Bing and came up cold.

Appears to be a Grey Norton stone.
I can post pics if needed.

TY 4 any input.

Sorry to see that.

Compared the differences against a #2
model-2E.jpg

Butt cap nut
Blue spacers, wrong red on red spacers
Washers not flattened
Guard too sharp edged
Blade grind doesn't match Randall's
Stamp off

Others should be on the lookout for these unscrupulous dealers.

A buddy of mine wants me to sell a 60's-70's Randall kit knife that was built up with walrus ivory and nickel silver guard and butt cap and I've pointed out the features on it authenticating it to a couple of guys at the show this weekend.

TY for the input,, sadly i've made bigger mistakes lol...live long enough its bound to happen.

Thought it was a "used" 40 year old....but i'm the used 52 year old!!

I should note there were other styles for sale too, probably the same maker.
I did find this blade for sale new online for $380. Same markings.

Don't hesitate to warn others off the "replica" or point them to this thread or us to the sale.

A pic of the nut securing the butt cap is a sure tell and any sheath that isn't saddle leather.

right around the plunge and ricasso the grind is wavy and inferior too. That Randall stamp on the crappy sheath is a sure give away as a fake.

I'd be at the next gun show looking for that booth and the guy that sold it to you. He shouldn't have any problems giving you a full refund. If he doesn't I'd be getting him tossed from the show.

TY HSO, that is perfect.

I have contacted the gun show owners and told them to be on look out.
The fellow selling the Fake may have been misled too.

I just happened to be visiting the area, 4 hours from my home, so not going back for the next show.

Good luck to all Randall buyers.
