"How can you shoot women and children?"
"It's easy, you just don't lead them quite as much!"

From Apocalypse Now, IIRC. Sorry, I have a dark sense of humor.

There's nothing louder than a bang when you expect a click

There's nothing louder than a click when you expect a bang.

"You can do everything right and still get shot in a gun fight" Clint Smith.

From an admirable friend....

When discussing carry pieces:
"Any gun is WAY better than throwing rocks."
"My 1911 rides with me EVERYWHERE."
"1-7 yards, empty magazine to center of mass. If things become hand to hand, it's under the chin until magazine is empty or activity ceases."

Shooting From Within - Plaxco

Good shooters are made - not born. - Fred Misseldine

One cannot shoot what they cannot see. - Fred Misseldine

Use Enough Gun
- Robert Ruark

Matter of bore - not choke - Bob Brister

Mentors had some interesting things to say to and about me as a brat:

"Young'un, them clays are going to break once they hit the ground, I suggest you work a bit more more on breaking them while still in flight"

"We ain't saving cardboard here - it okay to hit the target with that pistol".

"Well, young'un not often we see better patterns from a .22 rifle than we do a shotgun, now if you are finished trying to shoot long distance, whaddya think about shooting at the closer distance and paying attention to some correct basic fundamentals..."

"It helps to snick the safey off young'un"

"Okay young'un for the third time today, this is the last box of .22 shells I have..."

"Besides learning what poison ivy looks by lying prone where I told you not to- did you learn anything else today about shooting a .22 rifle from prone..."

If you can run 1500 fps, then you can have it. 1985, Said by a FT. Wayne IN, jewelery shop owner to a customer that implied that he was going to steal the diamond ring he was holding.

Nope Full Metal Jacket.

At least Apocalypse Now had the excuse of being a 19th century story about an ivory trader gone native, (Heart of Darkness) re-set into vietnam.

"Have no fear of any man
No matter what his size
When danger threatens, call on me
And I will equalize."

-- ?Inscription? on some early Colt firearms. Or if not inscription at least a phrase from the packaging.

"This is my rifle, this is my gun, this is for killing, this is for fun."

US Army E-6 DI Taylor, circa 1969

Jackie Brown

"AK-47, when you wanna kill every mutha f*&a in the room... except no substitute."

I think this was from "Frisco Kid"

"Hey, you just shot him in the back."

Louis Goset Jr: (shrug) "His back was toooo me."

Al Capone: You can get more with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone.

Clint Eastwood: I've got a firm policy on gun control. If there's a gun around, I want to be the one controlling it.

"If you can shoot them at 500, you wont have to fight them at 5"

SSgt. 3rd Marine, B Co. (Yours truly}

Oneshooter
Livin in Texas

"Wimmen'; ya can't live with em, an ya can't shoot em..." :scrutiny:

Said by a guy I used to work for a few years back.

MG

john dillinger actually said, ""never trust a woman or an automatic'. Actually he carried a 1911 .45 and did use the Thompson subgun quite often. The reason he didn't, sometimes, trust the automatic was cause once he stuck his 1911 in a man's gut and pulled the trigger and the gun didn't fire (probably cause the slide was pushed back enough to cause the disconnector to activate, i.e. out of battery.)

How about, "when life has no value, death sometimes has a price". (For a Few Dollars More.)

or "People scare better when they are dieing" (Henry Fonda, "Once Upon a Time in the West")

or "Here lies John Doe. He said, "DRAW!!", but I already had.

If you guys really want good quotes, ones that mean something, look up Sun Tzu. Way old but not out of date.
