Howdy
I'm not one for fancy grips, I usually like to leave the original grips on a revolver.
However, this Franken-Bisley Colt has some interesting after market grips on it. I have no idea where they came from, but they were on it when I bought it a bunch of years ago.
I call it a Franken-Bisley because at some point somebody replaced the original barrel and cylinder with a 2nd Gen barrel and cylinder. Bisleys were never chambered for 44 Special.
The original barrel should have said (Bisley Model) followed by the chambering. Like this:
If you want to talk about
interesting grips, I have always gotten a kick out of the fake stag grips on this S&W K-38. They are so ridiculous that I have left them on. I actually like them quite a lot.
They are injection molded plastic. Made by an outfit called S.W. Cut & Mfg, out of Montebello California. The specific model is Pointer Pup. They look a lot like Franzite grips, but those were made in Chicago. I suspect these are a cheap knock off of Franzite grips.
