For me, it has to be my Sig 226 West German 1989. Served many years as my bedside go-to gun. It is a fantastic blend to comfort and shootability. Too bad Sigs of that era tend to exhibit rust.

It's been retired since 1996, it was replaced with a USP .40.

You might consider having it hard chromed, if it isn't too far gone. Unlike nickel and automobile chrome, hard chrome is exceptionally abrasion-resistant and does quite well against corrosion, too. It'd run you, I dunno, $200 or so.

Out of my small collection, my fav is the P7M8.

I don't have a lot of experience with a lot of different guns.

Glock 19

It's my only 9mm, so it's my favorite (my wife has a Sig 226 and I like that, too).

I really love this pistol: easy to maintain, reasonably accurate, fun to shoot, etc. I'll keep my 1911s, but a Glock is really hard to beat when it comes to value.

I only have two and my favorite and only because it is shorter is the S&W 5903TSW I also have a Beretta 92f and if it were as short as the S&W it would probably be my second favorite carry over my 229 .40
