Favorite 9mm handgun

Let's see. I've owned a Star "Starlight", an S&W M39, another Smith but can't remember the model, several 1911s and two Browning Hi Powers. The one I still is one of the High Powers. This pistol fits me and I really enjoy shooting it.

Different sizes for different purposes.
Favorites in every size.
In descending order:
P226 Enhanced Elite
M11-A1
Springfield EMP
P938

Beretta 92/M9.

Specifically, a late 80's to mid 90's Italian-made 92FS with 100% metal parts and a "D" main spring installed. Extra points for wear marks in all the right places.

S&W 940 because in severe circumstances it can be fired from inside pocket w/o being taken out.

Glock 19, still the best shooter I own. And I would take one over any 9mm on the market. But there are plenty of other good ones. It's just to me the 19 is the best combination of size, comfort, reliability, simplicity, accuracy, with concealibility if you need it.

Bingo. Closely followed by my G26. However, a S&W 3913 still rocks, if you can find one.

Favorite...or only?

After thirty-plus years, and a dozen or more 9mm handguns (including a G19), I am down to an "only" 9mm....my Kahr PM9.
Currently considering a Kimber Solo or a Rohrbaugh...but not in a big hurry.
The PM9 has been serving me well for almost nine years now, and it really isn't broke...

Of course, if I still had my HK P7M13, I probably would not have sold it. But regrets are a dime a dozen....and honestly, it was not a viable carry pistol. Just a "keeper" handgun.

All 9mm Glocks, Beretta 92 variants, CZ 75 variants and the older generation S&W SA/DA variants.

I saw one in really great condition for under $300.00 at my LGS; this was a fantastic firearm!

Mine is a S&W 3913. The 3rd generation Smith autos just work so well for my purposes.

Tough decision, many choices. There are several Sigs, FNs, and HKs I want, but its hard to beat the Glock 17 for reliability, accuracy, and fairly cheap cost. The others mentioned are far more expensive, and are worth it in my own opinion, but the Glocks 17, (26 and 19 also) are tough to beat for the $$$.

Very interesting thread. It's great to hear we have so many great 9 mms out there! I have only owned 3 9mms. Nothing wrong with the Beretta 92F but my son talked me out of it and traded me a Glock 36 .45. I'm happy with it.
First pick is my Glock 26

2nd pick is my Kahr CW9

They are both reliable, accurate easily concealed. The Glock will take a bigger variety of mags. I have 10, 12 17. The Kahr is 7 or 8. The take down is simpler for the Glock. I like the Kahr with the CT laser. I also like the fact that both can use the same IWB Kydex holster, which my son made me.

I hope to add a Sig, HK, S&W Core down the road.
Thanks,

CZ75B Compact.

My 75 compact is the first CZ I bought and it lead to many more CZ pistols, but my 75 compact is still my favorite.

CZ 75 BD Police

Loved the Browning High Power but not fond of the "Cock n Lock" carry. The BD natural aim, accurate, dependable, feels great in my hand just like the BHP, allows DA carry and a decocker to safely lower the hammer afterwards. There is only a couple things that I can say I wish were different.

Those things are its' serrated trigger which after a 100 or so rounds found my trigger finger was getting raw so I found a smooth combat trigger for it and am currently having it installed. The second things is the empties on mine when they eject like to bounce off my forehead :cuss:

Other then those two things a great pistol

STI Edge - Tight build yet a slide so smooth it feels like it's running on ball bearings, crisp 2.5lb trigger with no over travel, recoil like a .22, and oh so very accurate. Great competition gun and a fun range gun. Easily my favorite gun in my stable.:D
