Overall: Vintage british sporting rifles on Mauser actions.
Currently manufactured: Tikka (the new T3 especially!), Sako, Ruger (the MkII mag) and Winchester. All have clean lines, good designs and shoot great.
Surplus: Enfield, Mauser '96, Springfield '03 (and the Schmidt Rubin, of course, although it's a slightly different action type)

Savage is a great rifle ~ but it's butt-ugly. Too bad. It's kind of like a girl who would make the perfect wife if she wasn't so darn bad-looking. You keep trying to convince yourself, but always end up saying "....naaah" every time you see her.
Too bad also because Savage has just solved their gritty-trigger problem by coming out with a retrofittable unit that is adjustable down to 1 lb. Still waiting for a good face-lift, though.

Remington doesn't grab me. Neither does the A-Bolt.
Weatherby needs to lose the caricaturesque monte carlo.
No experience with CZ, although all I have heard is good.
