I'm not sure this is the right place to post this question but the ammo section seems to be for handloading and reloading. Where is your favorite place to purchase ammo? Local gunshops? Sports centers such as Dick's or BassPro?
Wallyworld? Shops on the internet and if so, which ones? Which places seem to give the best buys? Specifically will be shopping for 9mm, .327 and .32 ammo.
If this is the wrong place, please move it to the appropriate area.
I am posting here and in the revolver forum as some of it is for an autoloaders and some for revolvers.
Many Thanks!

I bought ammo for the first time ever at a large general purpose place this last Sunday - it was pretty much the only Sunday option apart from the few open indoor ranges. I'd tell you what it was but its name is a thread killing word.

Amazingly enough, it went rather well and I got to load up a bunch of clips Sunday PM for use today. I'll probably go back to Wa..M..t. I'm rather surprised it took me this long to enter the place.

Flats of shotgun shells are usually from Bass Pro.

If it's more than a couple boxes, I like Ammoman.com.

Stuff I reload I sometimes bypass the whole factory ammo phase and just buy Starline.

I just placed an order for my 'carry/SD/HD'
ammunition at Double Tap. Fair price for Speer
GOld Dots/FPS.

Range Ammo: Wally World

I'm not sure what Ron Reed offers in
the cartridges you listed, but R.A.R. is my
source for .45 Auto Rim & .400 CorBon.

R.A>R. will also do Custom Ammo orders
(250 rds minimum) for loads within reason.
I had some 350 new Remington .45 ACP cases
& shipped them to R.A.R. I wanted the Leadhead
200 gr. SWC @ 1,025 FPS - no problem, since I
supplied the brass it was about 18 cents a round
not including shipping. In the same order, I had
the same bullet and FPS spec. with .45 AUto RIm
and it was around 42 cents per round, w/o shipping.
This was about a year ago so prices may have gone
up some.

I'm seriously thinking of looking to Double tap for carry loads myself. I like FMJ but they offer JHP as well. Read what they offer in 45 and 380. very interesting.

Since we're in the revolver section: I prefer to buy .45 long colt cowboy action loads at local shops, because the price seems pretty constant everywhere, but for beefier loads I prefer the interwebs for the better selection and price.

where ever it is cheapest, not in bulk that would be wal mart or wherever i happen to have a gift certificate for, otherwise for bulk buys i go to sportsmans guide.

All my .38sp and 9mm range loads come from www.mastercast.net. I have fired off more than 5,000 of their reloads with zero problems. Inexpensive, reliable and prompt -- the last two unlike my previous reloading service.

You can save a bundle by saving up your brass and sending it in exchange to Mastercast (must be the same as what you order). And do it by USPS Priority Mail. I send a thousand cases that way for nine dollars and change. Any other way I know of costs twenty or more dollars.

Give it a look. Looks are free!

There is a small shop just behind my house, called Slims gun shop. :D

I get mine there. He reloads, cleans guns and shoots in the back yard. Great place to be...

Shhaaazzaammmm, thats my house......

Definetly Academy 1st then Wal-Mart. Academy carries a brand called "Barnaul" in 9mm, .40S&W, .45ACP, .38, .357mag, .223, .308, and .30-06. It usually runs about half of what WWB and 2/3 of CCI Blazer. Fairly good ammo too. You can get the 9mm in Serbian made with a laquered steel case and Russian with a reloadable brass case. Both work quite well in all of my guns.

We have a General Gun forum for this type of question. I'm moving your threads there and combining them into one.

I like wal-Mart for ammo. Best prices. When Wal-Mart was out a couple of week-ends ago, I stopped at Academy to buy 1000 rounds of 45ACP. I paid $47 more than usual. That's significant.

www.cheaperthandirt.com . I buy most of my ammo from CTD, but always compare with other online places and I sometimes buy from sportsman's guide. It's too easy to shop around on the internet.

I used to buy surplus at gun shows, but I've yet to hear of a gun show up here in the north country.

However, for .22lr federal bulk pack, you can't beat wal-mart.

range ammo: Wal Mart
SD ammo: ammunitiontogo.com

WWB or UMC 9mm FMJ at Wal Mart beats gun show prices even for reloads, and even counting tax they beat internet prices for FMJ 9mm for brass case factory ammo. Academy has some bargain brand, weak loaded brass or steel case 9mm FMJ that jams constantly and malfs in my guns so it is not worth the savings to me.

ammunitiontogo and Georgia Arms, GA for practice and some SD ammo, ATG for SD ammo and shotgun shells. $16 for 25 rounds of Ranger 00 Buck...

I buy ammo at AIM surplus (cheap russian stuff)

I usually get most of my ammo at Dick's sporting goods though. I've got the rewards Mastercard and every $300 I put on it (gas, food, bills) I get $10 in Dick's cards. Works out to be a 3.33% return.

I walked out with 550 rds of 9mm UMC the other day, FOR FREE. I don't shop at Dick's unless I can pay for everything with rewards cetificates.
