Built in 7 different calibers and 7 different sizes, my preference is the Glock. :D

My choice is GLOCK, because I am very familiar with them and parts are widely available. The Springfield XD is a close second, and I will probably get at least one of them too.

I like plastic guns.I currently own HK,SIG,Walther,Beretta,Glock and FN polymer.I'm carrying a Glock 19 on my hip as I type but my overall favorite would be the SIG Pro.It's the nicest made, has the best trigger and is the most accurate. If only they made a P239 sized version.

glock

its not how accurate the pistol is. its how the person aims and handles the gun. all guns can be accurate. its the person behind the trigger. id prefer the glock. glock is also more reliable than most pistols from what ive experienced.

HK is overpriced and has a really crappy mag release. As does the P99.
Usually this is coming from someone who doesn't own one, never bought one, or even shot one. Usually don't know what they the hell they're talking about either. Same damn thing like the GLOCK basher. Typical internet armchair commando.

You really need to calm down and realize I'm not attacking you personally by voicing my opinion of a certain gun.

I picked one up and took the mag out, reinserted it and it nearly gave me a blood blister on my middle finger.

You probably wont believe me, but I use my Glock frequently for IDPA and USPSA. A magazine release that doesn't hurt is a pretty big deal to me.

Maybe that's because your middle finger has nothing to do with the HK mag release. It's designed to be used with your strong hand thumb from the weapon's left side or your strong hand index/trigger finger from the weapon's right side. (or reverse if you're a southpaw)

Funny, I feel the same way about Glocks. The mag release is awkward and requires you to change your firing grip to activate the mag release. What sense does that make?

Funny how what suits one person perfectly is unacceptable to another...

For example, I think the type and location of the ambi mag. release on the triggerguard of my P99c/AS is perfect..... My index finger naturally falls to the release and combined with the "drop free" aspect I find it the best mag release of any pistol I've ever owned. It's a big plus for me. I've never seen a pistol that you can release and drop the used mag so easily....

Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion, but in MY opinion someone at Walther was doing a fantastic job when he/she designed the P99 mag release. ;)

I "loves" my little Walther.....:D

Great responses guys, it's nice to hear everyone's perspective.

Also with listing your favorite platform, give some reasons why you like that platform over others.

Okay

Ruger P guns -- very affordable, built STRONG, accurate enough, 100 percent reliable, one of the best values in centerfire pistols and made right here in the USA, if it matters.

Kel Tec -- Light, 100% reliable, +P rated, accurate, powerful,, reasonably priced, and pocket sized with up to 13 rounds capacity in the P11. It is one of the smallest, lightest, +P rated guns on the market and STILL carries 11 or 13 rounds in a pocket. What's not to like? Okay, if you're DA phobic, try the new PF9 and quit griping. :D

The P3AT is simply the most gun you can put in ANY pocket and it shares the reliability traits of the P11. Both have one of the best lifetime warranties in the business. Innovative young company and 100% American, if that matters.

We're talkin' hard workin' guns here. I don't think anyone actually buys polymer for its aesthetics.

You know what, MCgunner, no one has ever been able to make me want a Kel-Tec. But after reading your post, I'm really thinking I should give them another look.

Damn you. :neener: :D

Cousin Mike, my intro to Kel-Tecs was a used P-11 and it was an awesome and totally reliable pistol. After I got the P3AT, with it's improved trigger, ultra slim profile, and ultra light weight I didn't feel the need for the P-11 anymore. I keep reading nothing but good on the new single stack PF-9, so I'll likely be looking hard at them when I return. Exactly what McGunner said - not pretty, just great, affordable, US made, hard working pistols (from a US owned company :D ). Take a look at them.

I have had or do have XD's, Glocks, Kahr's, M&P, Kel Tec's, and have messed around with others, I choose XD's. I shoot them better (big part of my decision) and prefer their safety features over the others!!

Glock is by far my favorite! At least, that's what I always seem to come back to the G20. Although I did own one of the S&W / Walther guns that seemed pretty good. I never shot it much. The main reason I like Glocks is because of it's proven track record and simplicity. HK's are just too overpriced for me. Springfield maybe good but I've never shot one. The S&W M&P looks good but it's still kind of new and needs to prove itself in my book. Since I only shoot two calibers 44mag/44special and 10mm the choices aren't that plentiful.

the Mrs. would answer Glock. But she's not a member so I vote Kel-tec. low cost, High value, great customer service. My P-3AT goes everywhere my MK9 can't. A PF-9 is on the wish list. When they come out with the HC version, I'm there.

That may be, but on every pistol I've ever held my middle finger is tight against the trigger guard. Seems like a normal firing grip to me. Holding a USP like this and inserting the mag makes that little lever move down and creates a pinch point between it and the frame.

Requiring a shift in firing grip to drop a magazine is fine with me, and I actually have come to appreciate it. I can rest assured that my magazine will never fall out when I dont want it to, because I can't reach the button while I'm firing. Then when the time for a magazine change comes, it forces me to get my finger out of the trigger guard to do so. After I drop a magazine I revert to a normal firing grip for magazine insertion.

Black MaJik,
I like the TLR a lot. for the money it is great. About as bright as the Gladius, no lamps to blow or ruin. Long regulated run time.

I put some Duct tape on the bezel as Muzzle blast can ruin the finish.

Just wish Streamlight would use glass for the lens instead of plastic.

Best $90.00 i've spent in a long time on a light.

I have 2 polymer 9mms that I really dig - my Glock 19 & P99c.

My Sig Pro 2022 is still growing on me. It's new to me with only 100 rounds through it so it's too early to judge just yet.

Beretta

My favorite, by far, is the Beretta PX4. I have looked at and played with the Glocks, the XD, etc., but the PX4 is just an all-around AWESOME gun. 100% reliable, very comfortable ergonomics, very accurate, and just apleasure to shoot.
