Fav pistol? Easy. Hi Power.

Ohhhh, favorite POLYMER pistol.... The Dark Side gets it. Specifically, the G23 (old slim favorite) or G30 (new chunkier favorite). But then, I haven't fired any other plastic toy guns. Just the real he man Glock polymers. ;)....

It's a good thing you didn't ask me to pick just one revolver, or I'd be real confused ;).....

My vote is for the XD. I like Glock, and I think they offer so many models, you'd be hard pressed to find a model that didn't suit you. I currently own a Glock 20 and Glock 23, but the XD feels better to me.

USP .45 is a super tool, in my hands at least. It's more gun that I could ever need.

It's not marketing hype I'm spouting because I shoot my stock Colt 1991a1 better than the usp but, can't stuff 12 rounds into the colt.

Of those, the XD and Sigpro. Steyr M second in value probably. Walther second or close third. The XD and Sigpro both will be incredible values if the full-cap mag ban sunsets next year (as will the others, but particularly these). Glocks and HKs have the unfair advantage of having available fullcaps. If this uneven playing field is leveled next year, the winners will emerge as one of the others that out-Glocked the Glock, IMO. XD, SigPro, Walther, Steyr are the most interesting to me.

In any event, I too consider the Wilson KZ-45 compact to be my version of the "ultimate" carry pistol, however. 9+1 of .45, Wilson quality, slim as a single stack 1911 - what's not to like (besides the price)? Others are great guns, but too big for my hands and my tastes for concealed carry. Glocks point too high.

If we're not talking carry guns, then the analysis changes. For sheer firepower, for say a duty gun, truck gun, or field carry, I still think the Glock 20 is unbeatable. With +2s on fullcaps, you have 17+1 of 10mm - egad man! :)

And, if we're talking pocket guns, rather than primary carry, then Kel-Tec is the shiz, specifically my new P3AT!

Also, IF I could only have ONE HANDGUN for all purposes, it would be the HK USP .45 full-sized - to me, it doesn't fill any one niche perfectly, but is probably the best choice for a one-gun-for-all-things. The KZ-45 Wilson full-sized would probably be second place in this category.

Good points about STI, CZ, Kimber, etc. - more choices than shown on the list are there. And as always, friends don't let friends buy Rugers. :puke:

I had to go for the XD. I've owned or shot Rugers, Glocks, and the Kel-tec P32, and the XD just fits me better than the rest of them. Glocks are ok, but they're not much smaller than a Ruger, and the Kel-tec is almost too little.

1. XD9. It fits me much better than the Glocks.
2. Ruger P-95 or P-97. Totally reliable and the feel has grown on me.

Well, hmmmmm

I have owned a Glock 30 and Ruger P-97; have shot quite a few more Glocks and several USP's. Nothing wrong with these handguns, but I will stick to my 1911's for serious stuff.
Been looking for a 'pocket pistol' for back up and extreme concealment for many years that was light and more powerful than my Chief's Special and have found the Kahr PM9!!! Tried alot of others, the G26/27 was too chunky, the little .45's are too big, the 380..? Forgetaboutit!
So, the Kahr is my next purchase and my favorite on the polymer breed!
Then, I start getting more 1911's!!!!
