FDE Five-seveN Gen 2 w/500rds of 40gr FMJ came home with me today!

I was at the gun show working with dad and the guy next to us was a private seller (we are an FFL) and I on a whim looked at his sole lonely table and he had a display case with a few pistols but one caught my eye, a brand new Five-seveN with 500rds of FMJ ammo! He said he would consider partial trades, so I showed him my personal Glock P80 and some 9mm defense ammo that I brought for barter Incase I found something I couldn't live without this weekend and I said I'd have to get $850 for it, and he was like yeah I'll take $850 off the price if you give me $750 cash (asking price was $1600) so I whipped out the money and we did a bill of sale and now I am the proud owner of it. There was a custom kydex holster guy there so I had him make me a holster and got a box of 27gr copper hollow point ammo too from another vendor.

I’ve been interested in the 5.7 but the price they’re going for is a bit too steep for me here in Ohio. Seems like the hood rats are buying them up at our local gun shows whenever they’re on a table, driving the prices up. Ammo is hard to find locally as well.

It was an actual, made in Austria, Glock P80 which is a reproduction of the Gen 1 17 that I put a threaded barrel and maritime spring cups in. And I gave him about 160rds of JHP 9mm.

Yeah I was surprised he had a whole case of ammo... It's like impossible to find more than a few boxes at a time here and there for normal price... At the show you can find all the 5.7x28 you could ever shoot but they want $60 a box for it ..

Yeah they are around $650 on GunBroker IF you can find one lol. They kinda flew under the radar when they came out in 2020 as people saw P80 and assumed it was a Polymer 80 percent build so it didn't really gain traction except with actual collectors.

I should have picked one up, but it was during 2020 and everything was flying off the selves

I would have been happy with both trade:

Glock P80 + 160 defense rounds + $750

or

FN 57 (classic) + 500 factory rounds in a brick

Yeah I told myself, I will only ever buy a Five-seveN if I wanted a 5.7x28 gun and am super stoked about it. Especially since I just did the Sliencer Shop E form stuff for a Silencerco Sparrow today!!
