Will this mess up a non-rifled 410 shotgun (long barrel)?

I'd have to know more about the load in question. Generally speaking, smooth bores aren't as prone to wear from sanely loaded ammo. The caveat being some hardened slugs that can't swage through tighter chokes.

If this is a 410 shotshell (pellets) as opposed to slugs, it should be no different and should perform decently

They load the buckshot with a shot-cup, so it should be fine. I don't know about the slugs; but of course you'd want a rifled slug for a smooth barrel, not a sabot slug.

I've used the 000buck out of my S410 to obliterate groundhog. For that they work well.

I see no reason why it should.

If it patterns like it does out of the Judge, it will be a little different from what you are use to from buckshot however. It tends to be a vertical stripe rather than a round pattern.

It won't damage your shotgun at all.
It also will not pattern through a smoothbore like it does through a rifled Judge bore. Much tighter.

You can get .410 shells in 3" size that contain 5 00 or 000 buckshot. I've never patterned any but they should be useful for HD at close range through a regular shotgun.

Yea, a 3" .410 with 000 buckshot holds five pellets.

Someone interested would have to contact Federal for the answer to the original question for this thread. Or, buy some, cut one open and find out if the lead is dead soft or a handgun round hardness. Even then, IMO, your shotgun is safe for sure if there is a sabot type wad that would protect the barrel such as is done for steel shot.

I've seen a Sellier & Bellot cut open, and no sabot, but the new home defense Winchester loads do have a sabot holding the three plated discs and the plated bbs.
