FEG PJK-9HP Sight Upgrade

My FEG Hi Power clone is one of my all time favorite guns, but it suffers from nasty, cheap sights.

This is the last job on my list for this gun, the extended safety, mag disconnect removal and Hogue grips are already installed.

I really like the look of standard Novaks, and night sights would be nice too but price is a big consideration and I want to stretch the dollar on this one. Slide maching will be required but I'm undecided as to which way to go to get the best results.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Sorry - no suggestions per se ... but, had considered similarly on my FEG .... but cost does not really seem worth it for a (despite IMO great) budget gun. Many years back when I had my first actual BHP ... much as I hated the sights I used it a lot in competition and learned to tolerate them and improve ..... so I guess some of that has stuck.

Also have a BHP Practical .. now that has better sights, tho not adjustable .. again I have resisted upgrade, partly still cost factors but also because they are ''good enough'' ...... for me.

Hopefully someone may have some ideas for you but .. as a rather broad generalization ... I equate better sights with excessive expense. Two lots of sight upgrades also could = another gun!!

IMO, its highly worth it at times. Look at the Makarovs with Novaks. Mr Camps gun and Brens are great.......It just depends on YOUR VIEW of your gun. You can buy Novaks from Brownells for 35-40$ and have the dovetails cut at a local smith thats good for another 80$...so its not THAT expensive...........................

I have Novak's front and rear on my FEG. Well worth it, IMO. I still have far less invested than I would in a BHP, and better sights.

Novaks from Brownells, sounds like a good way to go, it's the machining that will cause the pocket book damage.

Oh well, it is Christmas after all, and my guns always get a gift
