HK all the way

Humm...I "are" old it seems.

Not a HK fan, and Glocks don't like me.

I was mentored "Gun fit to shooter" and there is a LOT to this "gun fit". Glock was not even around, when I come up. Mentors were smart, and their wisdom still rings true today.

Now I ain't got a thing against HKs, per se, just when I was doing some stuff on a Private Range, we had LEOs with issued HKs and the only person that could "maintain" them, was the armorer.
These officers were young, and not really raised with firearms in the family. Their "experiences" were mostly movies and video games. They actually thought it was cool at first to have all this "stuff" on a "bat belt", until they had to wear all this stuff on duty, all day long, and in all sorts of weather, and environments.

These two guys had issued .40 cals, and one fired once, then quit. The other HK, fired twice, then quit.
So, after these two freaked out, ( being as one had been on a prowler call the evening before) and informed us, their armorer was the only on that could mess with these guns, we knocked out the stuck brass, cleaned chamber, and then cleaned the guns after we got them running again.

Glocks hate me.
I ain't got nothing against them, just what started out as joke, became serious. The guns either broke a part, or some other malfunction.
Too many things occurred with Glocks, and now, I accept the fact Glocks hate me.
Don't toss me a Glock if matters get serious. Folks that know me, or I am around, or might be around, fully understand and respect this. Meaning, some other brand and platform is available for me to use. Most often, a revolver.

Maybe it is because I am older than Glocks and Video Games...*shrug*

Couldn't agree more! They are my favorite brand as well. I've owned so many Glocks and XDs in the past, and while I agree they get the job done for less money, they still don't quite do it like H&K does. The only high-cap polymer auto I'll buy these days will be from H&K. I carry a P2000sk 9mm with the light LEM trigger. I'm a big fan of the LEM trigger for a carry weapon. Pic of my P2000sk with the USP.40c stainless I recently sold. I only sold it because I made over $100 on it and prefer the black finish anyhow.

To each his own. Whatever works for you is the best.

Me, It took a lot of trial and error to put up the old Ruger Police Service Six and fall in love with a CZ 75. YMMV.

Besides the whole HK hate you....
Don't see a reason to have one, more money for a pistol, don't really see what it buys.

Huge HK fan here as well. Owned all of the others over the years, and after shooting and handling my first HK, I knew I had found THE gun for me. (My first was a USP45 Tactical.)

Currently, I carry a P7 in a VMII holster. I can't really say that I've ever had a problem with any of my HKs. My last experience with HK customer service had to do with having the light LEM springs installed in my P2000, and it was a pleasure doing business with them. (In other words, I don't think they hate me.)

Do they cost a bit more than say, a CZ, M&P, Beretta, or an XD? Sure do, but FOR ME, it's worth every cent. But otherwise, their prices are right in line with Sigs, S&W revolvers, most 1911s, and a host of other fine weaponry.

Thankfully, we live in a free country where we can choose the gun that best suits us!

I really, really like the P7 series and I own a pristine P7M8 and bought a surplus BMI (German police) P7 when the first started coming into the U.S. in 2003. The grip angle, the low felt recoil, the low bore axis, reliability and accuracy are superb. I carry the P7 often.

The polymer HK's I am still trying to figure out. I have the USP Tactical .45 which has proven to also be accurate and reliable. The grip angle is a little upright for me. Nothing I can't get used to but it feels different from my 1911's which I believe it mirrors. Nice gun, and it begs for a suppressor which is whiy I really bought it. I shot a friends P30 at the range, right after a session with my P7. Again, great gun, but the trigger had a ton of take up in single action and I still liked my P7 better.

I think they are excellent firearms and when bought right, are a good choice.
