Hi
This is my first post and want start off with talking about my favorite brand. Except for my Glock 18 and Cz75 automatic, I don't use any other pistol than HK. Currently, I own 5 USPs is different calibers and sizes, Mark 23, P30, P2000, vp70z and P7. I am fishing for a P9s and the Hk4. My HK45 is on its way to me.

In my opinion:
"I think HK makes the best pistols, let alone weapons in the world. Yes they are pricey but you get the quality that you deserve.

Mark 23 just ultimate combat gun.

P2000sk ultimate ccw

USP Expert ultimate competition gun

P7 and P9s, classics!

Vp70z the pioneer in polymer

HK4, well it has all four calibers for ccw

HK 45 ultimate 45 full size service pistol

Finally the P30, can't beat it in ergonomics."

I would like hear from other HK fans about their collection.

Thanks

I think you're gonna find a lot of people who disagree. I will say that when I get the $$, I will be getting a P30. I agree that the ergonomics on the P30 are amazing. But as far as quality goes, once you get to that level, I think there are a lot of pistols on par with HK. Glock, XD, M&P, P99...they are all extremely high quality and I would put the record of any one against the other. It's awesome to have a favorite, as most do. But different people are going to have different ideas of what is the ultimate. What matters is finding a quality pistol that you shoot well. And not everyone is going to shoot a specific gun as well as another.

I like a lot of differnet platforms, and I really like my HKs.

My first HK was a P7M8. I bought it new simply because I had read and heard so much about it, and HK had discontinued that model due to manufacturing cost.

I spotted a second P7M8, so I scarffed it up. That one became my shooter. I couldn't imagine ever buying another until a fellow forum member had one for sale for a very good price. I couldn't pass it up.

Then one day I walked into my favorite Gun store with the full intention of securing a P30. They had just sold the last one, but they had an HK45. I bought it, and can say that this has been one of my better gun purchases. Great handgun, and it is very accurate, and easy to shoot.

So, I went back and picked up that P30. Liked it so much, I picked up another. I figured that was enough HKs, and my bank account needed to recover anyway. As fate would have it, I found an HK 45c for sale for a good price, so I picked it up. I shoot it a lot, and I'm carrying it now.

I just returned from a business trip in Raleigh. There is a nice indoor range where I shoot when I'm up there. I always look around, just to see what they have. I spotted another P7M8 IF date code with NO import marks. It was $400 less than I could find anywhere else, so I bit my lip, bought it, and had it shipped to my FFL back home.

Somewhere between all of that I also acquired a USP Elite in 9mm, what an accurate handgun.

The fever can be bad, but I think I'm in remission.

Except for my Glock 18

Okay, new member on first post claims to have a Glock 18? This I gotta see. Pics? How'd you come about this treasure and how much did it cost you?

As for HK. I have a USP Tactical 45 and it's the biggest POS I own. My G20 has been much more reliable, and is simply, IMO, twice the pistol at half the cost as my HK.

As far as I am concerned:

For an auto, I'll generally go with an HK over the others.

USP40
USP Elite (9mm)
P2000SK (9mm)
P9s (9mm)
P9s (.45)
P7M8
P7
HK4 (complete 4 chambering set)

I've passed on VP70Z's, but only due to it being an incomplete package. Have come very close on P7M10's and P7K3's as well but incompleteness of the package and/or price kept them from coming home with me. Someday... Even passed on a SP89 years back (had I known then...) :(
The P30's just don't fit me ergonomically and personally, they're ugly. A HK45C is a probable purchase at some point though. Autos just aren't my thing so none are models I actively pursue. Mostly opportunity finds.

I sold my two USP's because the grip was too big for me and because of that sproingy (not really a word) feel during recoil. Sorta reminded me of an AR buffer tube going sproing!

Otherwise, they were reliable and accurate. I just didn't enjoy shooting them.

Hk fan here. Great guns, good designs that are executed well.

Is there a more accurate sidearm?

The only H&K worth having IMO is the H&K 45. Personally Ill take a Glock over other H&K models- especially any 9mm. We'll see when the P30S hits American shelves.

I have a P30 and a G19, guess which one goes to the range or gets carried 9x outta 10.

Mark 23 just ultimate combat gun.

Have you bought a limber or caisson for yours? :p

In all seriousness though, I would like to get a USP myself...I tried the P30 at the gun store and there were a bunch of things I didn't like about it. The only problem I had with the USP was the price and the slide release that was so far forward and kind of stiff compared to other pistols I tried. I may eventually get a USP, but a SIG in the P226 or the P229 variety and an FNP/FNX will come before the HK. I may have to get a G19 or G17 for some cheaper plinking.

I am glad to see fellow HK fans here. In due time I will post pics of my g18, cz auto, stechkin, and most likely 93r as well (I am close to getting it). I will start new thread on those each. For now, let this be HK thread.

Question for HK fans: what HK you like the most for conceal carrying? Have you ever had problems with any of the HKs you owned? Please tell us about them. I noticed that most HK problems if ever are ammo related not gun.

No doubt they are fine for you, but they are not the "be-all-end-all" to which everything else is junk by comparison. I own, use and enjoy a Glock, a brand which also has a number of rabid fans, but I have other makes/models and frequently recommend them. As for H&K's current offerings, the 2000SK you mentioned is intriguing, but I fail to see what it offers over the similarly sized S&W M&P compact (a gun I also endorse) for nearly $300 more. Especially considering that polymer frames are supposed to be a cost-cutting measure. It is fine that the HK's float your boat, but one-note bands become tiresome after a while. Don't be that person. :)

HK would be like Toyota if all they sold to the public was the Prius.

Check the LE/Mil HK site and you'll get my drift if you don't already.

Yeah, they hate us.

I like HKs, but...

They are overpriced. I've shot USPs, one P2000, and a P30. They are nice, but you really get diminishing returns after you spend about $550+ on an autoloading handgun.

Ergos were really nice on the P30, but the bore axis is a little high. Flips a little more than my M&P. I'd take the M&P over a HK. If HKs were priced more in line with M&Ps, I might have gotten one because I like DA/SA.

I have an HK USP 40, and I'm probably going to sell it/trade in for a better ccw that will pocket carry.

Pros:
reliable
great features - sa/da/thumb safety/decocker
easy cleaning

Cons:
Size
Weight
price point

I have it for HD and could keep it in the car I guess, but I'm just going to trade it in to offset whatever i get next.

I wouldn't mind having a USP Elite for target shooting, though I'd have to wear a cape a la Professor McGonnigle from Harry Potter to actually hide one. :D

But they really are not the be-all and end-all. And if Larry Correia were reading this thread he'd note that HK's motto is:

"You suck, and we hate you."

I want to see a pic of that Glock 18, by the way. If you haven't guessed there is a bit of skepticism floating around about that...
