Is there a way to find a dealer that specializes in internet transfers?

Asking most gun store owners just results in them trying to get you to buy something they have.

i live in a pretty rural area. i called all the gun stores in surrounding towns and found the cheapest FFL.

do a google search and find some numbers. give them a call first and break the ice so to speak.

most of the quotes i got were around 30 or 35 bucks for transfer fees.

none of them specialized in internet transfers but said that it is very easy to handle. i think they just have to fax a copy of their license to the other party member.

some FFL's will not accept transfers from individuals however.

Check out this FFL Finder.

Some have only phone numbers and you're gonna have to do the phone work.

Some have web sites with transfer fees listed. Look.

There are some kitchen table FFLs that make a big part of their income by transfers. Lots of gun shops would rather make a sale than do a transfer and raise their transfer fees. Ya just gotta ask in order to find out.

I've found that most internet sellers; gunbroker, guns america, buds gun shop etc., have a list of FFL's that are already on file and willing to do business without attitude from losing business to the internet. If they're on file, it's less for you to do to arrange transfer and generally means they are internet transfer friendly.

One shop local to me wants $135 for a transfer and all the inventory is basically double what it can be had for on the internet. I tell the owner, who is a nice guy - would you rather have 10% of my whole budget or 60% of $100 when I'm in dire need and can't wait?

To be fair, our local gun store that's done tranfers for me has yet to disapprove, or otherwise suggest I should have bought from him. I don't doubt that some do, but not all.
