In fact, I've got a range going up in the back yard later this week. It's only 100 yards, but it's a huge improvement over the current 90 minute drive each way to the range.
I have a couple of 'dream' firearms i'd like to get my hands on this year:
- HK USP
- a nice 1911 (Sig, Springfield, etc)
- either a .308 rifle or a 12ga shotgun
My main firearms "resolution" for 2012 is just to get out to the range more often. That aside, I have a number of guns on my "to buy" list, but I really want to add a S&W 629 to my gun safe this year.
I have curtailed my purchases of new firearms and will concentrate on accessories which will include optics, other sighting devices, magazines, bipods, etc. I will also buy and fire more ammunition and take training courses to become a more capable fighter/hunter/ target shooter. I might buy .22 conversion kits or .22 versions of my fighting guns, but there is really no good reason for anyone that possesses a fair number of firearms to continue to buy w/o a good reason other than that they want another gun. How many people on this forum own more than 20 guns. I strongly suspect that there many here that do and will continue to purchase. It is not wrong for one to buy as many guns as you can, but for me it is not the most beneficial way to use my limited funds to achieve what I want. My latest gun last yr was a used glock that was fitted with a Suarez TSD RMR Trijicon sight. I like it and will begin putting these optics on more of my handguns. My next purchase will be aimpoints and eotechs for my AKs. Then eventually something I can really use that will be night vision optics once I learn more about it.
