I post my creds and real name on every post. I figure since I often give advice based on my experience, people have a right to know who I am and what my experience and credentials really are.

This is *NOT* aimed at anyone in this post, but I think there are too many instructors out there who misrepresent themselves for whatever reason.

Obviously, I don't list every class I've taken as a student, but I thought the LFI classes deserved to be mentioned.

no paperwork.....

I'm not a "certified" instructor, but I have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express before.....

I'm a fulltime, professional shotgun instructor, specializing in Sportingclays. I have been teaching fulltime for 3 years, and before that, part-time for 6. I don't have any certificates on the wall, but many years experience, a bit of success in the competitive arena, and a few students that have excelled also.

I have been a member of the TEAM USA representing our[my] country 7 times[captain once], won a handful of TEAM and individual medals. As important to me, I have 7 students that have won a spot on the US team also.

I have no problems with certification, but I don't believe that all instructors can be judged by the parchment they have on the wall.

Certifications

I would like to become an NRA Instructor. How do other instructors feel about training new instructors? There are only a few in my area.

NRA Instructor training

You have get training from an NRA Counselor. Check MYNRA.com and click under training.

Are most instructors willing to train new instructors?

Regular NRA instructors aren't allowed to train new NRA instructors.

NRA "Training Counselours" train new NRA instructors. A training counselour is a very experienced NRA instructor who has also taken additional training specifically on how to train new instructors and has been authorized by the NRA to train and certify new NRA instructors.

Go to www.nra.org and look for "Training opportunites" to find a TC in your area.
