I woke up this morning, and grabbed my laptop to check the usual sites, including the high road, when I looked up when the next gun show was going to be. I have only been to 2, and just decided to see when the next one was, and take my friend with me. I saw that there was one going on today, and decided to go. My friend is pretty new to guns, and actually is a little nervous around them because he had a ND once.
We went to the gun show, and he had a blast looking at all the firearms, knives, and collectibles there. When were driving back to our neighborhood, I decided he had to see my favorite gun store, and check out their indoor shooting range. I love guns, and love talking about guns. Especially to someone who is not familiar with them. When I saw he had some interest, I decided he was going to shoot today. I rented us a lane, 150rds of 9mm, and a Glock 17 (3rd Gen).
He was nervous as heck! I briefed him about all the rules, and then taught him how to be a safe shooter. We had discussed firearm safety earlier today, before the gun show as well. We were shooting decently, until we rented a CZ 75B. First off, I'm a huge Glock fan, and I've been thinking about getting a Glock 17 on my 21st birthday in April. We were shooting 10rds a target, and put about 75 rounds into an Osama Bin Landen target. :D After 50 rounds through a CZ 75b, I felt like I was shooting more accurately, and the gun felt great in my hands! I was getting tighter groups, and the recoil seemed more manageable. Overall, I think I am now going to get a CZ for my birthday! I was very impressed.
Today's fun cost me $160, but it was tons of fun, and I learned a lot. My friend loved shooting, and learned a great deal about shooting myths (Mainly how ridiculous movies are), and loved being at the range. After it all, we went to my house and both saw HEAT for the first time. Wow. What a day! :p

The CZ-75B was my third pistol, after a pair of Sigs, and to this day it is my favorite pistol. It fits my hand well, it's pleasant and accurate to shoot, and you get a lot of gun for your money. That weapon has instilled within me a great love of all Czech arms. :)

Thanks for sharing your passion with your friend. Just be a good teacher and have patients and hopefully he will get more into the sport.

The cz 75b is a great pistol I only thing I can say is when you get it get some snap caps or shoot about a 1000 rounds through it as the stock trigger suck, Also a 15lb hammer spring makes the trigger pull a lot better. That being said I love my CZ 75b shots like a dream all the time.

I own over a dozen autos and revolvers. My favorite is the CZ 75. I have the BD, B and compact. Cant tell you how good they are, you must experience it for youself.

I agree, I have a CZ-75b, PO1, and RAMI.

The 75b is my favorite. I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the Kadet .22LR kit. With it you can afford to shoot the 75 all day and get really comfortable with it. It has the exact same balance and weight as the 9mm.

Welcome to the side of the light. CZ pistols rock hard, drop by czforum.com sometime!

yeah, definitely check them out...great site with tons of useful information and knowledgeable owners

Plus, I the mods and admins are pretty good too.

My plastic 9mm is a S&W M&P, the 9mm I shoot is a CZ 75 compact. The S&W is a good gun but I like everything about the CZ better.

Be careful Gord when handling and then purchasing a CZ 'cuz they tend to reproduce. Many if not most of us start with the 75B and then go to a smaller, lighter model and so on.
The 75B is a fantastic shooter, but the P-07, Combat and Rami are all just soooooo cool.
You won't go wrong with any of them...they are great pistols.

My CZ75b is my best shooter. My first was the CZ452 American in .22 lr. Then a P01, BD, .22 Kadet kit, CZ527 in 7.62x39... CZ are known for multiplying in the gun safe. Very good values.

Yeah, I started out with a CZ75B in .40 S&W, which I fell in love with. Then I picked up a VZ-58, which I promptly fell in love with. Since then, I have picked up a CZ-52 and a CZ75 in 9mm (late Pre-B). I'm getting the itch for another CZ, so I might have to pick up another. Maybe that really pretty anniversary edition. :)

Don't forget the CZ82....Every CZ collections needs one of those too.....Dandy little shooters with military and police history, at a terrific price. ;)

Agree Fast...the CZ82 is the finest $200 pistol on the market. Actually, it's the best $450 pistol on the market that just happens to cost $200. 4 of them later (I've outfitted my family with them) I have to say that they really are one of the best buys out there. If CZ offered one in a single stack and as thin as my Mak, I'd carry the CZ all day over the Mak for CC (better trigger).
