My nickel plated CZ 75 Compact below my FN HiPower.

The CZ 75 is similar in several respects to the HP, although unrelated to it, and it's a bit thicker in the grip.

I prefer the BHP, personally, but the BHP is a good deal more expensive. The one in the photo is an older version with the small safety lever and sights.

CZ 85 Combat in duotone , a blued 75 compact and a 22 Kadet. The 75 has an awsome trigger & the 85 is close behind. I sold a 75 BD to fund a 3rd Gen S&W project. I lke the S&W 6906 but I do regret selling the BD.

Outside of maybe a 1911, I can't think of a gun that feels better in the hand than a 75B. The reliability and accuracy are also tremendous. If there's a flaw, it's the weight. Fine size for the range or home defense, but a bit much for concealed carry. I live in a no-carry state, so that point is irrelevant to me. In fact, the added mass is an asset because it soaks up recoil.

Best---again.

I like many of the CZs--especially the Custom Shadow, BUT "The Best Kept Secret for the money" CZs are the Single Action 75B models.

IMO The triggers are good out of the box and only get better with use. The actions are simpler. They'll take a wide variety of mags from other 75 models. With only a little work the trigger can compare to a good .45 trigger.

I lurves me my pre-B CZ75, but if I had to do it all over again, I'd get a P-07. Small enough for comfortable all-day concealed carry, good trigger, adaptable as all get out, and inexpensive to boot.

The gun store down the road has a polished stainless 75B. I'd love to have one...looks so pretty compared to my plain black 75BD. They want about $650 for it though.

blikseme has it right, "Depends on which one I have in my hand at the time."

I'll vote the CZ 75b as soon as this guy reads my e-mail. I've been waiting all day, hoping that he responds.

For carry and range the CZ-75D PCR is hard to beat. Lightweight alloy frame, easily carried, accurate, hicap and reliable.

If just for range use and occasional carry the 75B is a good choice. I have both and the Kadet Kit which works on either.

The first pistol I ever bought was a CZ-75BD Police. It was the start of the end of my finances as moved me from a shooter who got ready for hutning season to a competitor shooting year round with way to much stuff.
I have tried to replace this gun with something newer and better over the years. Going with a lighter pistol, a bigger caliber, etc. Guess which one still rides my hip and sleeps in my nightstand. I can't find a pistol that does as much as the CZ for me defensively or for competition.

It doesn't matter you are gonna end up buying them all anyways. Once you get bitten by the CZ bug it keeps on itching until you go out and buy another CZ. then it starts to itch more....

You are just weighing out the one you want FIRST.

I chose the CZ 75B. good range gun, good home defense pistol. (even better with CT lasergrips)
for CC, I would choose the PO-1 with CT lasergrips
you will get more, trust me :D

And if you ever get bored with all these 9mms

Check out the redhaired stepchild of the CZ line

The .45acp 97b.

It makes a whole lot of other .45's look like

A pack of yammering genetically impaired lapdogs.

Not that I'm opinionated, of course.

I have the 75B and PCR. For all around carry, range, SD, I prefer the PCR. Its easy to carry yet just as accurate as the B.

For the range I'd take the SP-01 with the manual safety or if I had money to blow I'd get the shadow version or just skip it and go for the TS. No need to decock a range gun. For competition I hear you can get a bit of a better trigger with the safety model and just manually decock it if you were going to shoot production or something. Safety models can be 100% safely and easily deocked as long as you use a proper method. People who worry themselves sick over that should relax...there's a heck of a lot more dangerous things out there. My other choice is probably the SA model followed by the 85 Combat. I like the trigger and the adjustable sights on the 85 combat but I don't care for the ambidextrous aspect. I guess if it keeps the lefties happy.... :) Nothing wrong with the regular 75B though. Excellent gun.

For carry I'd probably go with PCR with the P-01 right behind it. I hear too many complaints about the P-07 and the RAMI for me to just go and drop money on one. We'll see though.

Yeah, the 97 is a great little machine. I started with a "do it all" pistol. It is my 97. Then, I had to have something that I could conceal. So I got a 75D PCR. Now, I gotta have a stainless...
They really do breed. My 97 and 452 somehow produced a pair of identical PCRs. I keep hoping they will conceive a 550 Varmint Laminate soon.

I really like the light weight of the phantom, and love the look of it. I am strongly considering this as one of my options. My other options are either the cz-75b or the cz75 sp01.

I'm going to be using this gun mostly for range use and the occasional IDPA shoot. Probably won't carry with it at all, but its a possibility a couple years down the road.
What's your favorite CZ pistol and why?

I believe the SP-01 is to heavy for IPDA without doing modifications to reduce its weight.

IF you plan carrying it get the phantom, if not get the 75b, if you dont care about IPDA get the SP-01

cz sp01 shadow

I like the cz75 sp01 shadow:
