I did my CWP application process in person today using the new Dept of Ag "in person" process. I would strongly urge anyone in Florida getting ready for CWP application to use the "in person" method. There are 6 regional offices in Florida, closest one to me was in Tampa. http://licgweb.doacs.state.fl.us/staff/regions.html You do everything (except for training/proficency requirement) right there in the office; fill out the application on a computer, live scan finger print, get your picture taken, and have it notorized. You only have to may one payment, $117, and the best of all is the quoted "anticipated" procesing time is only 2-4 weeks, not 90+ days. Some people are reporting recieving their licenses in as soon as 8 days! You're supposed to call first and make an appointment, bring your driver license/ID, training certificate(see more in a minute), and check or money order for $117. The whole thing takes about 20 minutes.

P.S. - FL Hunter Safety Card DOES count for the training requirement.

Got It!

Did application in person on September 16.
Permit issued on September 21.

Recieved in mail September 23 or 24 (wasn't home on the 23 to see)

8-9 day turn around!
