While walking through Sportsmans Warehouse I noticed a rifle that had a familiar shape but a different color. It was a Winchester SXAR. It looked excactly like an FNAR that I had read about. The price on the Winchester was $850.00. What's going on here? Different price for a different color? I know the msrp on an FNAR is something like $1820.00. Has anyone else noticed this?

It makes sence that they would be built on the same line, this one gets a black finish, the next one gets a horrid camo finish. It was the price that really made me do a double take. For several hundred dollars less I could put up with the finish and less rails. If I didn't already have a scoped M1A I would look really hard at it.

I'm guessing it was used for that price, but heck, if I could afford it I'd buy it, paint and paint it black.

I posted a comment on the fnforum.net with this same question (still awaiting replies on that one): What model of another gun would you be able to replace the pistol grip butt stock with? The same question goes for the FNAR. I've been curious about this and haven't seen any definative answer on the question. Any thoughts?
