I walked in to local gun shop last week in my white collar clothes to buy some Hoppes and the redneck owner pulls out the FN, puts it in my hand and starts telling me about how it (the bullet) will penetrate 3 layers of kevlar and how good it will be to have one when the blue helmets come.

I'm thinking, what is he talking about???

This thread has helped some. It was a very nice feeling pistol, and light weight too. I still don't really want one, don't know who would ever wear 3 layers of kevlar, and I'm still not sure what the blue helmet deal was all about. I was just knind of glad to get my Hoppes and leave. I think I'll stick to Walmart for Hoppes next time.:D

I would hope it could penetrate at least 3 layers of kevlar, but being that a light IIA vest normally has around 16 layers, I don't think this little whiz bang would help much. The AP rounds allegedly will penetrate up to a IIIA vest, but so will just about any rifle, which I Think I would rather have if the SHTF and the blue buckets come a knockin.

Maybe It is the pistol to have in that case though, because they might take away any effective arms we have, leaving BBguns and the five seven.:D

Blue Helmets

Relax guys, the UN's blue helmet troops can't possibly swim over here. We would have to provide their transportation. Have you seen the record of these troops when things get dicey? The nations that are providing the UN with competent soldiers are unlikly to want to invade us. The only real soldiers you are ever likely to see here will be wearing a US Army label.
