Hello all, I've been a member here for a long time but for the purpose of this thread I've decided privacy is needed.

Some backround, the people involved in this story are basicly trying to get back at me for reporting an assualt a few months ago. That person assualted me as a favor for a cellmate who's x-girl I was dating at the time. So I date girl, X-boyfriend gets mad, sends friend who is fresh outh of jail, friend goes back to jail, more people mad at me.

Yesterday afternoon I was visiting this girl, when I'm leaving the neigborhood I notice a person who has been threating me thru other people. The person threating me is very upset someone is back in jail. This person is in a car with 2 friends they notice me drive by them & turn around to follow me.

I see them turn around so I take my pistol out of its holster and hold it in my right hand on my lap. I start driving in the far left lane and they pull up on the right of me. I look over and I see this person point a shotgun towards me. I then raise my pistol in thier direction & they slow down & get behind me. So at this point I pull out my cell 2 call for help but drop it in the heap of trash I alway's planned 2 clean out of my truck.

So I'm driving and I'm coming up 2 a redlight, I dont really want to stop at this light. I jump to the far right lane cut thru a liqor store parking lot thats on the corner and they follow quite well. I weave through minor traffic for about a mile doing about 60 in a 40. I'm coming to a green thats going yellow I take it they take it.

At this point I'm I'm thinking I can lose them in a neghborhood, so I drive off the main road and into a housing area. Bad idea, too many turns, they gain on me and start firing. So I head back to the larger road they start to follow, at this time I finnally have a good distance & find my cell. But then they turn back into the neghborhood & are not found by police. They said they had vauge call's of the incident but no Lic. plates.

They asked if I wanted to press charges I said no because they did not have him yet so whats the point but I'd reconsider if they found him. I said I didn't want my name anywhere near this at this point because I'd just have more revenge issues. I'm hopeing the officer respects my wishes if he can find a way.

I'm aware that he know's where I live & what I drive. I'm going to try and move Apartments if I can afford it.

What can I do at this point? Wait for them to show up again?

Edit: Reason for not pressing charges is I'm scared of more retaliation, I mean look at what has escalated from a few punches & 3 months in jail. Yeah I'm scared so what?
 
ALWAYS have a gun near you. See if a friend will loan you their car, or let you stay at their place. Carry a vid. camera to provide evidence, and let police know that you will do what is necessary to protect your life, so they keep it fresh in their minds/database that they are dangerous. That, and sleep in the very back of your apartment. Or, try to move furniture to the front, to provide some mild cover. Good luck.
 
No sir, not in D.O.C. but yea I guess you could say fishy. I just dont want to be flamed under my real name for being scared 2 file charges again.

Not a smart move. A good chance you'd lose the weapon during a wild maneuver or a collision. Keep your weapon holstered until you intend to use it.

Was your accelerator broken? Maybe the brakes and steering don't work? traffic making it absolutely impossible to maneuver? What did you think you were going to do, engage in a gunfight while you were driving? Nothing that you can legally own and fire from the shoulder will stop a car. Getting away should have been your top priority.

Why didn't you drive directly to the nearest police station? You endangered many lives besides your own by engaging in a high speed chase and trying to lose them.

What can I do at this point? Wait for them to show up again?

Either dump the girlfriend and move or take her and move. You can't live your life in condition orange or higher indefinitely.

FWIW, I don't think anyone would flame you. Question maybe, but it can be tough to decide to press charges or not.

It just seems like a bad movie or something, with a guy in jail who gets his buddy to go after you all over a girl? Obviously can happen.

If you're not pressing charges, do the police have anything they're willing to do?

It would also seem to me regardless if you press charges or not, they are out to get you. At this point, I don't see it making things any worse.

I'd make sure you have good locks wherever you're staying.
 
Ok false name bad.

Under thier rules & thier game I'm a snitch for pressing charges. I did press charges for a assualt look what happend.
 
Seems to me trouble found you regardless.

So I guess the question is, is it better to be alive and cower and fear, and actually stand up for yourself?

People say we shouldn't let the bad guys win, but seems to me you want to hand them a "victory".

I'm just ranting now, so don't pay any attention.
 
I was up all night trying to figure out how to make this go away I know thay have a big bad family & friend network. I dont want to run away & let them get away with it but I need to protect myself & family
 
All you can really do is move to somewhere where they would never think to find you (the other side of the continent might help).

Or, report them and get your name and identity changed by the witness protection program, if they take on such things.

As someone else mentioned, I would let the local police know that you will do WHAT YOU MUST to keep yourself alive. That makes it more of an emergency for them as they don't want to see people killed.

An aside here. When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.
 
Send your family somewhere else...rent a couple of Steven Seagal movies...go home and watch them??? Just my opinion.

Now thats an idea.... not really. I'm not trying to be hero but I'm not trying to run either. I'm stuck in hell.
 
Im sorry but this smells real bad. This is not a game. Sould never have got to this point.
 
How could it have been avoided I have never escalated the violence nor stayed around

I've been with this girl about 1.5yrs the trouble started a couple months ago when friend got out of jail, he went right back in when he checked in with his PO. Then I avoided that family like the plauge. Never made threats back never ran my mouth. But its seems they are not going to get over it.

Exactly. You demonstrated the validity of this comment by dropping and temporarily losing your cell phone.
 
At very least get an RO against all parties involved, that way if you see them near you again, and it escalates, you have proof that you are trying to avoid a confrontation.
 
Dude if you have a truck you almost assuredly have a receiver hitch, they sell18-24' rec. hitch coupler (it holds the trailer ball) it becomes a hell of a defense weapon when people in vehicles are attempting to do you harm. A quick stop when they are following close and one shot shredds their radiator, or you pop it in reverse and so long mr radiator, chase will be over quick and they will be on foot, if you ain't got one get one!:evil:
 
You guy's are good, yea I had some one bring up that Punisher movie, but no thanks. I'm trying to work with an officer to give him some other incriminating info so I can stay out of the mix. I know they do some things but was never interested to learn the details but I'm brain storming now.
