For M&P lovers!

Has anyone noticed the side to side play the slide has? I have three M&Ps and they all do it to some degree, so I take it it's normal. I doubt it effects accuracy. Perhaps it increases reliability when filthy by having a looser tolerance.

Ben

Mine has very little (if any) slide movement. The movement maybe slightly more than my 1911 (which has none), but the movement on the M&P is so very slight.

I just got the m&p 22lr to go with my m&p 9mm.

I have handled the M&P 22 a couple times and I really like it. I do not own a 22 yet and think it would be the perfect plinker to own considering I own a M&P 45c and plan on buying more in the future.

As said already, we would love to see some pics. :)

Oops...sorry....just saw this. I'll take some and post tomorrow. I'm loving it.

Got the regular M&P when they first came out to shoot production in USPSA. I polished the sides to make it a little different from everyone else's black polymer gun. When I saw the Pro I had to get one of those too. Each time I bought one I got a coupon for two free mags.

What are you guys using for color fill in the logo's?

What would you guys say is the shootability vs concealability ratio between the MP9 and MP9c? Is the full size noticeably easier to control?

The full size has a little less muzzle flip due to its heavier weight and longer barrel, and more grip to hold on to so it is easier to shoot rapidly IMO. That said the M&P9C is plenty soft shooting and the smaller size holds more of an advantage for CC than a disadvantage for shooting.

Thanks Ben. Picked up an M&P9c today.

Glad to hear it. The M&P9C was the first gun that made me realize that compact guns can be really shootable. Buy lots of cheap fmj and give her a good workout.

If you experience grit in the trigger at first it is pretty normal with these guns. A bit of 2000 grit sand paper to the part of the trigger bar that contacts the striker block, (and if you know how to drift sights off) the striker block itself, will do wonders to get rid of the grit. The trigger pull IMO is also a little too heavy, it gets a little lighter with use. I'm still debating whether to put an apex sear in it to lighten the pull. The trigger is the only downside to this gun.

M&P9 with a red laser on the rail.....can dump the mag in 3.2 seconds and keep all the rounds in a 4-inch circle at 20 feet...not bad for an old gun guy.....

I'm very glad my dad introduced me to this forum and to find this thread on the M&P. I love my M&P 40 fullsize. I thought the gritty trigger was just me, very helpful to read about that issue in here...I'll be patient with it and see how it is after I put a few hundred more rounds through it. Its performed flawlessly for me so far. The crimson trace and truglo night sights were the perfect add-ons in my opinion. And its extremely comfortable in the crossbreed supertuck holster. All of that was a bit costly, but its like marriage made in heaven.
Great to see so many fans of this fine weapon on here. Very glad I didn't go with the Glock or the XD.

25 yds off-hand, SWC in my first time shooting this new to me M&P.

Awesome shooter.

Nice 9fs. I have been debating on what M&P will be my next purchase. I have multiple compacts, but I can always use another carry gun.....decisions decisions decisions....:)

This is a hard decision. It will either be the 9fs or 9c, or maybe both!

Thanks for posting guys.

Mine is an M&P9 Full Size - it resides next to the bed loaded with Critical Defense and gets shot several times per month. It's had the S&W M&P Performance work done to it, and is good for taking out the 10-Ring every time I take it to the range. It's also got the Crimson Trace laser and a Streamlight TLR-3 on it.

One of my favorite handguns.
