Got a email from Midsouth For sale not ON Sale:what:

Gads, glad I do not need any! $50 a pound plus!
I have not bought powder for a long time
But some threads were searching for Unique and others.

I've got a pound of this to work up loads... maybe better for a trade on something I like already because I won't be buying more..... Screenshot_20231215_103734_Chrome.jpg

Oops I guess I am late to the party. This has been posting in the official thread.

I guess I'm almost exclusively a blackpowder shooter now. The best BP in the world is half that price - and the last bottle of Unique I bought, just before Covid hit, still has the $19.95 sticker attached.

I can't believe how much they want for Power Pistol. It was always in the low $30s around here. its all gone up. The only deal I've found on powder lately was W244 at $129.99 for 4lb jug.
They had a bunch of 1 lbs also in the 30 something range, think I'll go and get the rest of it in a couple days, if it is still there. I think some of it will, it isn't a fast mover around here.

Nope. These are the future good-old-days prices you will someday miss.
I resumed reloading about 3 years back out of concern that chronic ammo shortages could turn into permanent ammo shortage. Despite little to no powder, primers, bullets.....components or equipment, folks on here and elsewhere were saying supplies would return and prices would drop.....so don't buy anything and wait for it. Not willing to risk it, I started anyway. Started small as things turned up. The first buy was about 500 LRP off gonebroker at obscene price of $7 per hundred.....compared to the $50 per brick price on Graf's, except Graf's didn't have any at that price. Graf's went over a year with very little supply of any reloading components, and to this day have not seen LRP at Graf's. But I started anyway, buying what could be used where it turned up, when it turned up. Now sitting on enough stash prices could go 10X what they are today and no supply and it won't affect me. And based on what I paid then vs. now, then looking pretty cheap to boot. I'm now set for life, but still adding some odds and ends when they turn up. Like Speer Gold Dot 124 grain JHP bullets from Midway. First time I've ever seen those anywhere, and have been looking for over a year.

Also suspect if things go south again, and stay that way, when the cupboard goes dry, most on here would be glad to pay today's prices. If nothing else, put together a rainy day stash that never gets touched. What you would want to have going into never, never land where shelves are empty and stay that way......cause I don't have enough to go around.

:oops::oops: holy crap! The 8lb I bought a year ago was $150 less than that!

AR-Comp is my very favorite powder for .223 and .308, but those prices hurt.
Same! Just like Sport pistol for 9mm and RL16 for 6.5 Creedmoor. Man those prices hurt! N320 is $15 less a pound than SP around here.

I'm getting old and I like Unique and I'm about out of it so I gritted my teeth and bought a lifetime supply (8 lbs). Merry Christmas to me. Thanks for letting me know about Midsouth.

Fellow shooters criticized me for buying primers at $40 per 1000.

It's only money.
