Hello Gentlemen,

I was hoping some of our Texas members can chime in here and recommend their favorite shops in the Houston Tx area. I'm looking to make a few purchases and would like to deal with good ppl.

If they're a Springfield dealer thats an extra bonus!

Best,

Jim

I highly recommend Armory Management&Supply Services.
11010 Jones Rd. just slightly north of F.M. 1960,832-237-2666.
Small, great prices, friendly people $15.00 transfer fees for CHL holders.

Thanks

Thanks Heeler, I'll look into them.

Other suggestions still welcome.

I concur with heeler about AMSS. They are relatively new shop. But, the staff are very friendly and courteous, and not a bunch of condescending know-it-all snobs. I use them for all my FFL transfers, ever since they opened. They are located right on the golf course, on the NE corner of Jones Road and FM1960, right behind the shopping strip. Easily missed, if you don't pay attention the first time.

Another shop that I've read about (but have never been to) that is also highly recommended by other local gun owners is Tomball Pawn, a little NW of Houston, just off of Highway 249.

Yep Tomball Pawn is a very popular place. If you're in the vicinity of AMSS, you might want to drive a couple of blocks further north and take a look at The 10 Ring, also on Jones Road. They handle an excellent selection of reloading equipment and supplies, and do transfers for I think $20. They also handle guns as well but I'm not sure if they're a Springfield dealer.

Remember, only Texas residents can purchase anything other than rifles or shotguns while in Texas. Any handguns or other firearms you want to buy would require shipping to a licensed dealer in New Jersey.....and must be legal to own there.

+1 for Collectors Firearms. They are a little high on some things but the guys there are friendly and knowledgable on what they sell. Ask for Noe. He is good to deal with.

The selection at Collector's is hard to beat, both new and especially rare/vintage guns. The few times I've dropped by the staff has been friendly and helpful.

On the south side there is The Arms Room. Gun prices are a bit on the high side, but they have a good staff and the nicest indoor range around that is also priced reasonably. They rent guns too (including full auto), and I think they are still doing the $25 rent-them-all deal.

there's a fairly new shop in Brenham, 45 min. northwest of houston, Independence Firearms; they're HUGE, plus they're in the same bldg. with Ammo To Go.

nuff said, plenty worth the drive.
