G19 qestions

Ok am I crazy :banghead:, I’m having problems with my gen3 G19. I went to the range again and had 3 shells hit my head and one stovepipe with in 90 rounds with 3 different brands of ammo. I have a test fire date of 09 which I thought it was supposed to be fine but I have been having problems for a long time with the gun and thought it was me or ammo or something. After reading about other people with the same issuers I finally realize my gun is having problems. This g19 also has roll marks from the factory on the slide and frame. So I emailed glock they told me to ship it in, now here is my dilemma do I ship it in for like 60 dollars and hope they fix it or sell it and buy an M&P.I kind of feel like I’m done with it and I can buy a M&P for $438 OTD here.

Buy the way I also own a g26 that has a test date of 07 and has none of the problems described and I had a gen2 G17 also no problems.

I have both a G19 and an M&P9 FS. I prefer the M&P, and my Glock has never given me any problems...

I would not want to spend $60 to fix a Glock that, in theory, should be good to go from the factory.

I would wholeheartedly recommend an M&P, but try to get some range time with one before you decide for yourself.

I wouldn't sell a problem gun (especially one that is bad enough that the factory says to send it in!) to someone for full price just for them to find out it is broken...

If you're honest in that the factory already requested that it be returned, I guess it would be ok. Full disclosure an all... just the phrasing of your statement makes it sound like you're planning on dumping it on someone.

See if your local FFL can help with shipping. They can use USPS so it sometimes comes out cheaper.

It's probably just your ejector. Replacing it would be less than 60 bucks

Thought about buying a new ejector or having glock send me a new part, but glock will only send a part to a certified glock armor and you have to pay them to install it. Here is ejector that I what to try but it’s out of stock I think that should go to show you there might be a problem with some glocks.

What type of mags are you using?

Ejection problems in a glock are often caused by mag springs either being too weak or strong.

If you are using an aftermarket Korean mag, or an extension or something. Borrow a stock mag before you give up on it.

An FFL can ship US mail, which would only cost you about $25, including their cut. FWIW, I've only ever held one M&P, and the trigger on it was TERRIBLE, so I haven't bothered to look at another.

Does Glock reimburse shipping if it is a defect, or is it all on the owner?
