I went to the range today to try out a glock 26 and glock 27. Surprise to me the G26 shot just as well as my glock 34:what:

My question is why was the G26 better in the accuracy department than the G27.

Yes, I have shot the 40 cal and do own a G22 & G23, G19 and I shot the G34 at IDPA matches.

The G26 seemed to shoot VERY WELL.

Has anyone else had this same experience:confused:

Many people have. The baby glocks often shoot better than their larger brothers. At least from what I've read.

They do about the same for me.

The 26 is a very accurate gun, and I love mine. If you want a very accurate Glock that shoots 40 caliber projectiles, try the G20. Its my 150 meter milk jug exploder. The flat trajectory of the 10mm is dead on out to that range.

I owned & G17 & a G26. I shot much better with the G26:confused: Always thought it was odd, but it was what it was.

I've got a 27, it shoots very well for me. I can't imagine the 26 shooting any better than the 27, I would guess it is a subjective difference even though you already own and shoot at least one Glock in .40.

I have 7 Glocks total. FWIW, I can shoot my G26 better than my 34, 17, or 19. For ccw purposes I went with the G33. Love the 357 sig.

To me, by shooting them both, they are the same, but because I try to keep caliber stock down, I opt for the 9mm. I don't own any 40s.

TBS, either will work, and go with the caliber you prefer.

Its been my experience that many 9's are more efficient in a shorter barrel ( case capacity/volume vs. barrel length)..There are a lot f good 40's nowadays, but the pressure curve and the perceived recoil is a bit different( a little sharper in my mitts) when you put a .40 into a pocket rocket.
Oddly enough, when shooting sde by side full sized guns in .40 and a friends Glock 20,the 10mm felt "righter " to me.Mor recoil, but less "snappy"...go figure.

Maybe the G26's double spring design on the recol guide helps in shooting the gun better.

One of the main reasons I finally purchased a Glock is because my local range rents guns for 10 bucks. That "range" 26 shot the bull out of the target and about a week later I had one in my collection. Glad I finally got over my Glockfobia.

One of the most accurate handguns I've ever shot was someone else's G27 with their pet handloads. Never have liked Glocks, but that one made an impression on me.

Great shooting guns! And I don't own one!

I own/carry both a Glock 19/26. Both are very accurate. The 19 is inherently more accurate by virtue of it's longer barrel for me. I've also shot my best friend's Glock 27. Also, very accurate, but the .40 hurts my hand more than the 9mm. From what I've read, 9mm does better than .40 out of a shorter barrel since the 9mm is a higher pressure round.

When I went searching for a subcompact Glock to carry, I handled and test fired the Glock 26, 27, 33 and 39.

Found out that out of the four, I was more accurate with the Glock 39 and, for me, the felt recoil with the Glock 39 was less than the others. Me thinks it has to do with the heavier slide on the Glock 39. Recoil was more push and less snap than the others.
