Giving away supplies/ammo

I have No issues with giving to Anyone if I it’s something I have plenty of and They need it. And 99 % of the time They have something I could use. The 1% is when I feel nice and They offer something back I have plenty of and I take it and add to My stock.
I traded some Small Magnum Pistol Primers a few months ago to someone that needed them. He offered Small Pistol Primers back. I didn’t need them but did the trade. Have done the same with Powder.

Years ago got into reloading and casting- “The Writing is on the wall”

I’m thinking long term and thinking of my Family, extended family, Next generation-

Not my Neighbors son- not planning for his hunting season.

At this point, I'd have a hard time coming off anything I'm likely to need to replace later. A handful of ammo to function test a gun and defend yourself with? Sure...15-20 rounds to sight in a rifle and hunt with? You bet. Enough to have a day of fun at the range? Nah. Primers? Powder? Bullets? Same deal.
Nothing's cheap, but everything is out there if you bother to look...and pay the price. Buy a box of ammo here and there at inflated prices, 100 primers at a time...whatever ya gotta do.

12-18 months ago, I felt sorry for people that didn't know any better and got caught unprepared. There's no way anyone doesn't know by now. Oddly, the folks I hear complaining the most are the ones that should've known better, but didn't bother. The relatively new gun owners seem to have adjusted pretty quickly.

I just gave a friend of mine some primers, powder, dies and some reloading "stuff" to get him started. Tossed in an old tumbler as well. I had extra and know I'll be able to get more by the time I need so it's not a big deal to me. I'm not one prone to the hype of supplies never coming back or staying at astronomically high prices forever. Then there will be the hoarders who will eventually realize they don't REALLY need 100k primers when they're well into their 60's and don't shoot that much.lol!
Might not need 10,000 primers in reserve but I am into my 60's and cansee the real possibility of having to pass a background check to buy ammo and limits of how much. Not much liking what is going on in CA and will prepare like it is coming to my neighborhood soon. You do what you want but the local GVMT denying my ability to shoot as much as I want to "save the children" gets a hard NO!!!

10k is reasonable for a "Stash". 100k is a bit excessive especially when you really don't do anything more than plink!lol! I KNOW someone who won't shoot that much in 10 lifetimes but is convinced he "needs" that many. I told him I was just going to wait until he kicks rods, then buy them from his wife for half of what he paid!lol!

I find it easier to count my primers by the case rather than the brick.;) If you tend to shoot 3-400 rounds four times a week then 10 K does not last long at all sadly. Also I am still using up the ones I paid $12-15 per brick. Then I consolidated to using 95% SRP for everything small primer. It helps with inventory when bulk ordering. That's an inflation beater rite there!

Luckily for my friends and family, I factor in their complacency and laziness in my food and ammo supply. And this time around I've even donated some pistols.

Some people can't learn no matter how much you get on them about things.
