I know many of you who carry a GLock 26 will chime in that the Glock 19 is too big, however, I am wanting to hear from people who actually DO carry the 19 on their ankle. What's your experience with it and do you have pics?

I had a G36, which is similar in size, and I think I ankle carried it so I am thinking a 19 would be that much of a stretch. I also have ankle carried a Taurus PT-145. I am 5'7 and where pants in a 30 inch length. Most of my pants are a lil baggy at the ankle and can conceal well. I am mainly wondering about the weight as the day goes by.

Your thoughts???

I am one of those G26 on the ankle guys.

I carry mine 12 hours at a time when I do on my ankle. I dont think weight will become a problem. In fact, the longer you wear it, the more your forget about it. I think the only concern you will have is pure size of the grip.

Not sure about your pants, but near the ankle, mine would not be large enough to quickly raise up over the grip and be able to access it. I say if you can conceal it, you will be fine.

Just make sure you buy a good holster, not some Fobus stuff. Galco, Alessi, etc...is what you need.

I personally use the Galco Ankle Glove and use the calf strap, which I also think is an absolute must have.

Good Luck!

I carry a Beretta 8045D mini-cougar on my ankle several days a week. The trick is to get a quality holster with secure straps and good padding. Wear suit trousers or Dockers, not denim "blue jeans."
