Hey Everyone,

I just pick up a Glock 20. I have a 27 already. I'm not a big glock fan (i fancy 1911's) but I came across both of then new and very cheap. I've wanted a 10mm forever and the glock is the only new 10mm I can buy. My question is does anybody know where to find pre-ban hi caps for the 20? I'm afraid they're going to be very spendy. Any suggestions would be great.

thanks,
Rob

Nope. From what I've heard they're the rarest of the Glock pre-ban magazines.
If I were you, I'd wait till next fall and see if the AWB goes away.

They're spendy alright, over $100. Is 5 more rounds without a reload really worth that much? I would wait until this time next year. They should be ~$20 again.

What you can find sometimes are the orange "training" mags which go for a lot cheaper than the pre ban black ones. I picked up a couple from Roseburg Gun Shop (Cascade Ammo) when I bought my G20 from them back in 2001. Paid only $60 apiece. They work, you can't see them in a holster, and no one at the range ever asked me why I have a splash of orange at the bottom of the mag well. Maybe they figure my firearm accessories are done by the boys of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy :)

Congrats on the G20. Great pistol. ;)

Yep, the pre-ban 15 rd mags, assuming they're in new-to-excellent condition, will run between $100-$150 in my experience. But cheaper bargains are always possible, so keep an eye peeled.

Hey Brad,

Thanks for the feedback! What is CDNN? Do they have a website? Let me know please.

Everyone else,

Thanks for the feedback as well! I've been wanting a 10MM forever.

Thanks again,
Rob

G20 and G29

If I had the $$$, I'd get both. I understand the preban 15 rnd mags will also fit the G29. I have the G30 in 45 acp.

Average I've seen for G20 15 rounders has been in the $135 range for drop-free, maybe a little (like $10-15) less for non-drop-free. If you want standard cap mags for your 20, I think you'll have to resign yourself to paying out the going price. You could, of course, gamble that the ban will expire (and we all hope it does) without action to renew. In that case you'll probably be able to get them for about $30-40 (forget about the $17 retails of the past, Uncle Gaston is going to play this for all it's worth). If the ban is made permanent, the $135 mag above will probably instantly jump to $150 and maybe $200 within a year. Personally, I think I'll go for the 29 and keep my eyes open for good deals on the 20 mags.
