Will the Glock 21 SF accept the regular Glock 21 13 round magazines or will it only accept 10 round mags. Can anyone provide pictures to show the difference in the 21 and 21SF? Thanks.

There are three variants of the Glock 21SF.

#1. Picatinny rail with ambi-mag release
#2. Glock rail with ambi-mag release
#3. Glock rail with standard mag release

Ambi-mag release Glocks will only take ambi-mag release magazines (generation 8 magazines). Standard mag release magazines can work if you modify them (requires cutting the front of the magazine).

Standard mag release Glcoks will take both standard mag release magazines and ambi-mag release magazines.

Thats right, and its easy to do. Probably a quick search over at

would yeild pictures of cutting the edge of the mag. The newer mages (made in last 15 years) are pretty well all FML, so you dont have to worry about weakening the mag.

ps. you probably wont want to hang out there too long. I like my glocks, but those guys are all pretty extreme. That and the admin has a huge ego.

I think my agency issues the third type mentioned by Quiet in his post, as mags are 100% compatible between our G21s and G21SFs. Our SFs don't have the ambi release.

So essentially, what you are telling me is that if I get the standard mag release, I can use the 13-round magazines from a normal Glock 21 in the SF?
