How can the RAMI & the Glock 30 both be dimensionally similar (height & width) yet both have the same capacity (10 for 9mm & 10 for .45acp).

How did Glock do that?

I'm ready to drop some coin on my next compact-ish gun. Looking at a RAMI & an Glock 30sf........which should I pick? And why?

The glock as a polymer framed gun can have thinner walls on the grip and use a double stack or staggered magazine.

I believe the cz rami line is available at 14 rounds for the 9mm and 10 for the 40S&W

I don't know that I have a prefrence one way or the other

can't speak for glock

I don't know a whole lot about glocks other than they have a loyal following. The Rami comes in 9mm and .40 cal. The alloy frame on the Rami and double stack mag allows for 10+1 while the .40 allows for 8+1. The web sight is a bit confusing in that they say there is a 14 round mag available. It could be that they're talking about the Rami P that has an extended mag. I have to ask about that. There was a lot of talk about problems with the .40 but apparently, those problems have been rectified in the newer models coming out. If the Rami is anything like the 75 line, it should be solidly built and reliable. Like you, I am seriously looking at the Rami in 9mm as my next purchase but still have a little research to do.

I have one of each, and both are very good handguns.

The Glock 30 is one of the most popular in the line and accurate. Some feel it is too bulky but I find it reasonably comfortable (average size hand) and shoot it well with the addition of a Pierce grip extension.

The CZ RAMI is similar in dimensions but I think that you’ll find that if you compare it to the G30 it is less bulky in the grip area which makes it very comfortable to hold. The addition of a modified Springfield XD Pierce grip extension on the 10-round magazine provides a place to support your pinky finger.

IMO, the CZ would be better choice for concealed carry.

Recoil is comfortable with both handguns.

I carried the CZ RAMI 9mm for years before moving to the Glock 29, which is dimensionally similar to the Glock 30. I liked the CZ. You have the DA/SA option that Glocks lack. The CZ could be dressed-up with aftermarket grip panels not to mention you now have a choice between alloy and polymer framed versions of the CZ. On the other hand, the Glock29/30 lacks all the sharp edges characteristic of the CZ and aftermarket parts/accessories are easier to find for glocks. Both are great shooting handguns but I would have to give the nod to the Glock 29/30 for all around concealability and performance. Besides, I'd rather carry .45/10mm than a 9mm/.40 anyday.

G30 was wide for my hand. RAMI is just right.
