i have a glock 34 that i recently purchased. it jams after about the 3rd or 4th round. does anyone know what i can do to fix the problem? it doesn't seem to matter what brand bullets i put in it, it still jams.

Was it bought new or used?

Has it been field stripped and cleaned since you got it?

Could just be dirty or need some lube.

thats a first, most glocks will shoot about anything you can put in them. i've owned around 15 glocks and never had one jamb. 26,27,23,20,21,22,17,and 19 and they all shot great.

Yeah I had a Glock 22 that I got rid of because I didn't care for it but it never had any problems at all. I don't know what to tell you man, maybe a Glock expert will stop by and help you trouble shoot soon.

i would really like to know if i should keep it or not. i really like the gun but i want to be able to shoot it without jamming.

I had the same problem with a glock 23

I had the same problem with a glock 23. I had someone observe my technique and shoot my gun.

After this I realized that I had been limp writsting and holding it improperly. I would hold it with a death grip and a limp writst.

When I loosened my grip and firmed up the hold on my wrist the problem went away. It is now one of my favorite firearms.

Hope this helps.

Maybe if you could give an example of how the gun is jamming it would help us to help you. Does it jam as its feeding the next round from the magazine into the chamber? Is it failing to eject the last spent casing? A little information may go a long way when trouble shooting.

What kind of jams? Stovepipe, failure to feed, failure to eject, failure to fire, etc?

Is it with one magazine only or does it happen with other mags?

As Jframe.38 said, the most common jam with Glocks is due to operator error, a "limp wrist." These mostly result in a stovepipe type jam. But if you provide a few more details we might be able to diagnose better.

failure to eject causing the next bullet not to load. i havae only used one magazine. what is a limp wrist?

Failure to eject reinforces the idea that you may be limp wristing it...along with the fact that you say it happens about the 3-4th shot (the gun gets lighter as ammo is used), the lighter it gets, the easier it is to limp wrist it.

Specifically, "limp-wristing" is when the shooter, upon recoil, allows the wrist of the shooting hand to break up. This absorbs some of the energy of the recoil that the gun needs to operate properly, preventing a full ejection/feed cycle.

The wrist of the shooting hand should be locked throughout the follow through.

Try choking up on it. Use as high a grip as possible. They to get that slide to bite you, it won't.

Youtube seach for "combat pistol grip".

Youtube search for Todd Jarrets tips, he has a good explanation of grip. (It's Todd right? Pro shooter for Para)

Try federal ammo, make sure your proerly lubed and cleaned. You may need some new springs. Let someone else shoot it.

Let an experienced shooter try the pistol, if it still has problems then send it to Glock. But by all means check out Todd Jarrets' videos, they will make a better shooter out of you. My G34 runs perfectly, yours should too, try a Weaver stance with the thumb forward grip, should stop the short cycling, and make a better marksman out of you.
