I just picked up a Glock 35 (my first Glock) and gave it a thorough cleaning and oiled all the spots outlined in the manual. I also have a 1911 and a Springfield XD40.

When I finished cleaning, I racked the slide numerous times to distribute the oil and clean up the gun. I noticed that the slide noise contained a peculiar high frequency "screech" noise. I field stripped and cleaned again. Same thing. It is not particularly loud screech that would make me think that there are tolerance problems, but the sound is definitely of a different "character" than the XD or 1911. It is a subtle sound not a screaming noise.

Is this normal for the Glocks? Would anyone be concerned if this was your gun. Recommendations? I have yet to get it to the range.

Yep, normal ops especially if it's a new pistol. Shoot the heck out of it and enjoy doing it. That's what Glocks were made for;)

It's probably the recoil spring rubbing against the guide. Normal.

Lenny and John are right. Some newer Glocks I've encountered sound a little like worn brake pads when manually cycling the slide forward. It never bothered me much.

Sounds like its broken. You should send it to me so you are not troubled with figuring out what is wrong

I think all new Glocks do it....nothing to see here....move along.....HAVE FUN!
