Glock Beavertail adapter

I'm wondering about the Glock Beavertail adapter for my Glock 19 gen 4. It is a glock backstrap that is supposed to somewhat mimic the grip of a 1911. I'm sure that the best way to get the 1911 feel is with a 1911 but I have respect for both Glocks and 1911s for different reasons. One of the 1911s best characterics is its grip angle and I think it would be great to duplicate that on a Glock. Anyone use this or hear about it before?

I have one on a Gen 3 G-17. It makes a big difference if you have beefy hands; it keeps the slide from railroad tracking the part of your hand between your thumb and index finger. I don't think it changes the feel of the pistol, it just allows you to index properly on the piece without looking. A big difference if you're in a position to be smelling gunpowder other than your own. I highly recommend one.

These have been around for a while. You'll find lots of discussion and reviews about them in past threads and around the net.

If you have a problem to be solved as with the poster above, obviously it's worth a try.

I had one on my Gen 3 G26 for a while. I hadn't had any real problems but I didn't like the feeling of the hump on the G26. In the end I took it off because I found I shot better without it, and reaching the mag release was easier without it as well. It felt good in static gripping and got rid of the hump, but the weird thing about the Glock grip is that for a lot of people it shoots better than it feels, something about the way it works into your hand as you shoot.

There's a new version out that's smooth instead of ribbed.

This is how much material the old one added on my G26 after I did a lot of work making it fit flush.
