Glock Carbine / PDW

So Kel Tec and HiPoint make carbines for 9mm and .40, but not .45 What gives? Mech Tech makes their CCU upper to fit m1911 45's, but that's about it. There are Feather Arms 45 carbines for twice the price or HK/Berettas for four times. HiPoint has been rumored to start making a .45 carbine for a long time now but have been all talk/no cattle. They seem to enjoy a lot of success with their 9's & 40's among law enforcement. Still having trouble figuring out why there are so few carbines for a cartridge like the 45 acp.

HERA Arms & their U.S. distributor are both announcing a +16" barrel version (no NFA/SBR issues) is soon to be released. I've heard all the "pistol caliber carbine" arguments as well as the; Keltec, Hi-Point, Beretta & Mech Tech alternatives. But I'm fond of GLOCKS, already have an extra G17 with a few G18 mags around, and believe this may be an ideal tool (weight, recoil, ergonomics) for Mrs. Ghost Tracker to apply to a HD situation. That's my excuse anyway...
