there will be times when the user wants to dissengage the safety, but does NOT want to fire.

When would you want to disengage the safety on the Glock if you weren't going to shoot it?

No offense but that question is either silly or arguementitive.

He basically said there are times when you want the gun in a state that is fully ready to fire but that you dont want to fire it.

And you "questioned" him on that statement as if his statement doesnt make sense.

Most glock owners like... even boast.... that the gun is always in a ready to fire state because there are no manual safeties.

A disengaged manual safety is essentially the same thing as not having not having a manual safety (for the purpose of this part of the conversation)

Why wouldnt you question ALL of the glock owners who believe a no manual safety/ready to fire gun is the way to go? They want the gun is that state ALL of the time.

Then you go on to say a few posts later....
When is this applicable to a Glock? Never, because you don't disengage the safeties until you begin to pull the trigger, making it a moot point...

Ahhh, theres the post with the boast.

I pose to you.....your same basic question you posed to him.

When would you want to disengage the safety (edit: or have no manual safety) on the Glock if you weren't going to shoot it?

Maybe I'm just missing something

Maybe I'm just missing something

I think we both are.

I am a Glock owner, as I've said before, and I have no problems with it. I have no problems with guns that have a manual safety either. So...?
